Hello everyone and happy Saturday hope everyone had a great week. I have a question that may sound kind of strange so bare with me. Over the past few weeks every now and again the thought has come to me to ask this question on backing up one's website.
I know that Wealthy Affiliate has a great backup tool to protect one's website because about twice I have heard stories of persons talking about having a website with their website service provider and the information just disappeared, meaning their post just gone, now I am always on the internet on different sites learning about other people experience. I just want to know more about this because I once saw a lady on a particular website offering a product that would help as an extra back up measure. What are your thoughts and thanks so much for helping.
The two most recommended plugins at WA seem to be WP Clone and All in One WP Migration. We ultimately went with WP Migration. It is very easy to use and is regularly updated by the developers. The only issue with it is that when your website gets to a certain size (we believe 150 Megabytes) you have to switch to the paid version. We are not there yet but will most likely pay when the time comes.
WP Clone also seems to be very good but it seems to be updated far less frequently and which was the deciding factor for us. Also, we see that it showing as not having been tested with the current version of WordPress.
Hope this helps.

i now tend to use wpclone and download the zip file it creates offline.
i have tried allinone wp migration and hit problems with memory but it is another one which is supposed to be good.
i try to do it once a month but set your own time limit - what are you prepared to lose....
if you don't want to download it then there are plenty of cloud storage solutions - but make sure you trust them.
Good luck Norman
