Thanks everyone, Jude fixed the problem by removing wp edit and super edit and installed TinyMce Advanced. The interesting thing is I had the problem before installing WP edit and Super edit, the great news is its fixed. Well done judebanks

Go to Users > Edit and make sure you have the Visual Editor option unticked, and save it. If you have it ticked, you won't see the editor buttons.

If that's not the issue, and you would like me to check the set-up, send me a private message with your details. I can log in for you to see if I can figure out what's up. I did this for another member recently and got it working. ~Jude

I'm hoping the fix will stick after you do what I mentioned in the private message. ~Jude

Thanks for the question. I noticed that the editor functions were very limited. I was wondering if you could create you text content with Microsoft Word and import it to you're website post area

Thanks Larry, yes I have done that using word in HTML problem is once I have the text there, I can not do any edits

Yeah, I would assume you would need to save your content in a folder in your document directory, edit that file and then replace the old website version with the new. Sounds cumbersome but if you really like MS Word, it might be worth it.

Thanks Simon, it would be good if I had the toggle icon problem, is I don't

More edit tools show when you click the ''toolbar toggle'' icon. The ''toolbar toggle'' icon is the last one on the right of the editor.

I didn't know that. I was going to suggest tiny mce or some other such plugin. John

On your edit page there is a tool bar right above your content writing area That has a B for bold and so on go to the very last one on the right and click on it then there should be a second line drop in there with more options

Are you still using a siterubix site instead of your own domain?

Maybe the theme you are using just does not have these functions you need or support them

Thanks Tommy, I thought maybe it was the theme but as I have the same issue on another site with a different theme, I am thinking maybe its WP 4.1 upgrade

yes on the visual tab click on the last one on the right to give you the second row of options

Thanks Tommy, that would be good if I had editor icon/buttons on my visual tab to click on, but I don't. I raised a support ticket they took a look and suggested it is a JavaScript issue, Their fix is, I need to clear my cache and do refreshes, works sometimes but its not a long term fix.
