Hi... I recently added WP Product Review Lite but when I re submitted the URL to Google it is coming up with errors.

It looks like some info that is need for Amazon as it states SKU numbers, I am not promoting Amazon, and have filled in all the information required.

Any one else had issues with this plugin ?

Thanks in advance

Hi Martin. We have been having this problem for a couple of months now but only recently realized it actually stemmed from this plugin. We are going to try Trish's suggestion and see what comes up.
On the plus side, and as we understand it, the errors should not be a problem in terms of indexing and ranking. Having said that, it is annoying and a little confusing to keep seeing those error messages.
Please let us know if you resolve the issue and we will do likewise.

Hey Martin,

Copy those error messages that you receive and paste them into Google's search textbox. You are bound to find the best help that way.

This is exactly how all "pros" discover how to fix errors... honest!

Hope you find this helpful.

Thanks Trish see I knew someone would know or have a great idea on fixing it.

I will do that and see what happens thanks again.

Hi again. Just wanted to let you know we followed your advice and got some answers. It seems this is an issue that the creators of the plugin are aware of and they are working on a fix. Thanks again for that great advice that we will definitely remember for future problems.

Hi Dave. We are having the same problem as Martin. Just to be clear, are you saying you just don't use this plugin or that you use it but don't get the error messages? If the latter, are you using the free or premium version?

I’m not familiar with that particular plugin. Do they have a support contact?

I did have a question in live chat the other day about it. It could be built in dysfunctionality to make you pay for the professional plug-in

Thanks Catherine you could right there :)

it's sad Martin but that's the cynic in me. As it's come up twice in three days and I've never heard of the plug-in it may be correct. If you find a theme that you like i.e. somebody else's review sites Send to me a PM and I will tell you what theme they're running and what plug-ins they have

I am not worried too much as only benefit would be rich snippets in SERPS. Rather have not rating and not effect my Google console.

I will do some more investigations

I would be interested to know what you come up with to improve the rich snippets

Hi Catherine. We are having the same problem as Martin. The likely reason this is starting to come up now is that Jay Neill has mentioned, and praised, this plugin a couple of times in some of his recent live webinars.
The rich snippet that Martin is referring to is the star rating feature that comes with this plugin and which, typically, shows up in the SERPS.

I know this is an old conversation but I downloaded the same plugin after hearing Jay recommend it and it looked fab but I got all of the same errors as you guys have detailed. I also got an error warning email from Google and my analytics flat-lined immediately. I really liked this plugin but I've deleted it and the errors are gone but my tracking code on Google Analytics has disappeared from my site?? Anyway, I'm about to sort that but just wondered what the outcome was to this error problem when using the plugin - it's such a shame it's caused all of these problems??

Thanks, if anybody is still around to comment.

I just deleted plugin and don't use one now for this purpose now.

Hi Alexandra. It seems the reason everyone started getting those error messages was that Google had begun looking for more information about reviewed products, such as sku numbers and ISBNs as well as more details about the product itself, such as color, measurements, etc. At that time, it was not possible to add any of that information (even if you had it) through the WP Product Review plugin but the plugin developers, Themeisle, rolled out an update a short while later allowing us to do just that.

Unfortunately, in most cases we won't have the information the plugin and Google are looking for so there is still a good chance of getting those error messages. We certainly do although it is erratic and we have no idea why we get them on some posts and not others. Anyway, they don't seem to be having any adverse effect on our ranking and Jay Neill, the Live Training coach here at WA says they won't affect performance and to ignore them.

Don't know if that helps in your decision whether to give the plugin another try. Let us know if you have any further questions.

Hi Martin. Was that because you got annoyed with the error messages or did you see some additional problems like Alexandra?
Also, were you getting error messages on every review post or, like us, just the occasional one?

Hi I was only getting them on some posts but not others. I really love the plugin and it makes a lot of difference on review pages but getting sent that error email from Google with 7 errors on those specific posts made me panic and I wasn't sure how it would affect my site - I didn't get any help from them at all and Site Support here obviously couldn't help either.

I would really like to add it back in again but as long as I know the error messages have no affect then it would be OK. I looked at some others but none of them offer exactly what I was looking for other than WP Product Review.

By the way, thanks all for responding on such an old post!!

We agree there isn't a comparable plugin. Obviously we cannot say for sure but it is possible that what you saw in Analytics was caused by something else. If you really like the plugin why not give it another try and just monitor things closely. And don't worry about the error messages provided everything else is working fine.

I think I will give it one more go, it's worth it if it works out.

I added my tracking code again for GA with site support today so will see if the issue has gone - it's still flatlining even though I deleted the plugin a couple of days ago so it can't have been that.

Thanks so much for your help on this - it's appreciated.!
