Not really a problem, just curious. Is there a reason that suddenly Updraft Plus is taking forever to back up my websites? It eventually completes the back up but it is taking like hours. It used to take 2 minutes. I know Scott is experiencing this also.

Good afternoon, every so often I have this problem, I just reported to sight support and they take care of it. Have an awesome weekend.

Yeah, I saw Scott's post on this issue. I use UpdraftPlus and never have this issue. I backup around 2am each day. I am on the new servers also, don't know if that makes any difference. I did suggest to Scott that he try changing the chunk size. I never heard whether that helped or not.

As mentioned here, there are other reliable options, although I am curious as to what the culprit is here.

How do I back up my site? Is it a plugin?

Thanks

I was using Updraft Plus but switched to "All in One WP Migration". It is a WordPress plugin. Add it and you can back up your site in a couple of minutes. Here is a tutorial I did that tells you all you need to know about plugins. Good luck and just holler or PM me if you need help. If you do not mind me asking, where are you from?

Hey Mark,

You already asked this before. Thought you were going to change over to using the All In One WP Migration plugin. It is soooo much more reliable.

I thought maybe it was just a temporary thing. Looks like it is not. Switching over now. Thanks

Hey Mark. We switched to All In One WP Migration a while ago and are very happy with it. Just be prepared to pay once your website goes past a certain size (150 MB or thereabouts).

I installed it and it hung up on 89% for 30 minutes. I was thinking was maybe a virus on my computer. It has been one of those days nothing goes right. So I turned it off. Signed back in and cleared my cache and browser history(probably the first time this year. lol). And it ran fine in about a minute.
Have ya'll dived the Galapagos?

Glad to hear you got it working okay. We did not dive the Galapagos Islands while we were in Ecuador. It is ridiculously expensive, particularly if you include the outer islands, at around $5,000.00 per person, and that's just for seven days. Too much for us. Looking forward to diving Cozumel.

Too much for me too. Too many great dives all over this big blue marble for that amount. I can get 125 acres of land in Ukraine next to a lake for that. And I am.

Are you not in Ecuador anymore? Dove Cozumel back in the 90's. You will love it. Just be very careful when you venture out of touristy areas. Some very bad people there, like everywhere.

Glad to hear about your land purchase, sounds like you are really settling down there.
We have moved permanently from Ecuador to Mexico. Right now, we are checking out different areas but we will be settling somewhere in the Yucatan peninsula and which is safe compared to some parts of Mexico. We certainly feel safer here than we did in Phoenix!

Mexico, Ecuador, Ukraine. The cost of living close to nothing. And as long as we are safe, that's all we can ask. See you in Mexico or Ukraine one of these days.
