you can change the name of the default category from uncategorized to anything you want - but you need one default category
your categories group your posts together so can be used as menu items and are set at post generation time
the category can be changed after generating hte post by clicking on hte post and getting hte quick edit menu - you can change the category and other items there and update
good luck
phil
if you want to get rid of this being displayed on your posts then you wil lneed to have a poke around in appearance - customize ....
in the free version of the theme you may be limited in what you can change
but...
siteorigin css plugin can help by being able to identify what items this is and then switching it off...

if you goto appearance - customize - additional css
and add
.newsup-tags {
visibility: hidden;
}
then see if that works
take a backup before you do it ..just in case but there should be no problems
test the whole site just to make sure nothing else is looking funny
have fun

You can add different categories and put your posts into those different categories. There should be a place to delete categories in your back office on your website just Becareful when doing so.

Hi Chris
I had that issue. I found it so annoying

It turned out that it was a theme issue

I email them, got the email address from site support

They sorted it out in no time

They support and see if they will help you

Hi, you can add more relevant categories in your WordPress back office, however I would leave the above intact.

Please review below tutorial Then in Posts, you can select which category post belongs to.

No particular reason, you can rename it too. However sometimes you may not have a specific category for a post and thus would be listed under uncategorized

As long as you do not select it. It will not show on your site.

Take for example the training here done by members, all of them are listed under uncategorized. One benefit to that, non members can view them trainings vs if they were listed in categories other than getting started, affiliate programs and affiliate platform, they would not be able see them.
