Hi,

I am using hummingbird (pro) plugin to optimize the site speed from my website, the software suggested me to compress the css and js file, I did what they suggested, but the website (lay-out, and some featured is gone), so I turn of the advance option. Is there any body can advice me which css and js file that should not be compressed or the combination of file that can not be touch?

I am using elementor, and generatepress theme.

Thank you for advice

Kiki

Hi,
As Andy says below. You can go to your site management and clear the cache which helps too.
As I understand the only plugins the deliver any benefit to a site on WA are the photographic ones. As Chrystopher J. mentions (might not be the right post), Regards,
Michael.

It will likely be a conflict with the site speed function of WA hosting already doing wehat you are paying for them to do. Best bet is to disable the Hummingbird plugin like I did and save the expense because 99% of what the plugins from WPMUDev do is already done for you here.

The big thing is to get next-gen images like webP, high image compression, and to set the HTML clean up. Don't have too many plugins because they slow your site down and if possible and you choose to use Adsense don't show it on your front page.

Kiki,

Google AdSense slow my page down. So, I took it down for now. I might want to add it back later once I have like 400 visitors a day to make it worth to use.

Adsense doesn't lazy load like it should and Google's servers are not as fast as they ask the rest of the web to be I have found out. Another plugin to beware of is AMP for WordPress, this one plugin is supposed to increase mobile loads and it doubles their load times

The only thing I’ll add is that having a cache plugin such as Hummingbird or WP Rocket, with SitePlus+ set to Accelerated does perform better than having only SitePlus+ set to Extreme. As long as you know what you are configuring. If you do not know, then yes, stick to the Extreme setting and no cache plugin. But if you do, then definitely go the plugin route. This will allow you to place the CSS & JS exactly where you want it, and you will not receive any Render Blocking messages, like you do with Extreme. I would also recommend using this in conjunction with the Asset Cleanup plugin to remove CSS & JS from specific pages/posts.

You can, yes, if you enable the advanced settings. You will get three options to the right hand side.

It is mostly trial and error, I use this plugin as well, but do make sure that SitePlus+ is set to Accelerated and NOT to Extreme, if you haven't already done this.
