I am creating some pages for my website in Spanish & Arabic but my core site is in English, how can I add flags rather than use the words Spanish or Arabic in the links, ideally with a drop down menu. Any ideas or experience, gratefully received.

Best Regards,

Trevor

Hi there,

The mulit-lingual plugin I use for all multi-language sites is WPML. That plugin offers flags as language indicators and a drop down menu.

I wrote a detailed review of WPML on one of my sites and I can give you the link of you're interested - PM me.

Cheers,

Martin.

I am sure that there is a plug-in that is a translator rather than doing multiple lists in different languages. The problem is that I am not sure how effective that would be to target keywords. I would probably consider different websites completely and hit different markets even if it’s the same core subject

Wouldn't it be perhaps better to create separate sites for the Spanish and the Arabic content?

I think website visitors may get confused if there are many languages.

Hi Trevor, where do you want to add these flags. On your website posts or on your links to your site.

Via add media for the individual posts and do you mean in the literal sense.

I apologize for not understanding the question fully.

Best wishes,
Michael

That can be done through a plugin. The following post can help:

The plugin is a good suggestion for a difficult, but interesting question.
