I've probably come into the discussion late, but the whole purpose of the site health notification is to simply be a reminder to not overload your site with plugins. If you're over 5, it's just there to nudge you, but by no means do you need to eliminate plugins that aren't actually slowing down your site.

Everybody's needs are different, so if you're using plugin x for reason y and it's not slowing down your site then there's no need to delete it. Now, if your audience is arriving at your site and it's taking 5-7 seconds to load every time you go to a new page, well then, yes, the first culperate will be your plugins.

Also, as a reminder, don't get lost in the data of speed checks, etc. A routine speed check can give you a poor grade, ask you to eliminate a ton of stuff, make you spend days on it, and then when you're done, it gives you a good grade and all you did was shave milliseconds off loadings times.

So just use your own eyes to gauge your site speed. Does your site take forever to load? Do you want it running faster? If so, eliminate a single plugin, go back, see if it's any faster. If not, you could probably leave it alone. It's totally up to you.

I have deactivate all the plugins except the 6 Rudy & Meena told me to do, and it is up and running. I will check it out the next days to see if there is a problem, but for now, everything is fine. Thank you so much for all the support!

Hi Monique, I would like to know which plugins you are using. I de-activated a few of mine found out they were actually serving me no purpose at all. I am now at 70% with plugins and my site speeds are around 90 to 100 for desktop and about 85 to 100 for mobile. If you are scared to delete the plugins just de-activate them one at a time. You can always re-activate them as necessary.

All the best,
Michael

Hi Monique, yes that is a lot of plugins. I am glad to hear you have de-activated some. After you have de-activated some of these plugins I would recommend you add UpdraftPlus - Backup/Restore. This is just in case for whatever reason your site crashes. You can back up your site and then de-activate the plugin after. Use as necessary. 6 plugins are good. I am sure your site speed has increased by a huge percentage. Experimentation and step by step are the keys.

All the best,

Michael

Yes, deactivate all of them, then one by one add somw of them back.

Add a few back, then check your site to see that everything works.

With GeneratePress, you don't need special plugins for it to work efficiently.

I like to view it the other way so : what do you need for your business and audience without compromising speed - otherwise it can affect your ranking especially moving forward...good luck Phil

I changed the theme yesterday,
I don't need so much right now. Those many plugins makes me out of control.

I like to have a good writing program, I have classic editor combined with block editor, wich works fine now.

I like to have a email subscribe plugin
Social media buttons.
Table of content.
That is all I need I think. But if you have some sugestions?

I'm probably the wrong person to ask I have generate press and work with as little as I can get away with - love Rudys idea. With GP you can hit high speed scores .. I would test that first via Google site speed and work backwards.. I'm at 96 mobile and 100 desk top but anything 90 plus is excellent... image optimization is also key
