I have the html Code but the instructions say that I am required to create 2 empty PHP files in the root directory. One is as 'Index PHP' root file and the other is a 'Converter PHP' root file.
Any thoughts and direction are appreciated in advance.

Hey Paul, is there a reason you can't use a wordpress plugin for this? A plugin should not require you to manually add php pages.

Hey Paul, no worries.
I don't have any exerience with currency converters so I don't feel qualified to recommend one, but I word do a plugin search for "currency converter" and try a couple of different ones out to see which one best suits your needs. Remember you can look at the reviews of a plugin before installing it. And you can always uninstall it if you feel like it's affecting your site performance. You can install and uninstall as many as you want as a premium member so don't worry about that.
Also, I feel the 5 plugin cap is a bit conservative. Yes, some plugins can drastically affect performance, but many of them do not affect it at all. I have one blog site that is running in excess of 24 plugins that performs better than one that is running 10. The reason is the one that is running 10 has one that it employs that consumes a lot of resources. But the performance is not so bad that it is turning off the site's visitors.
I always look for plugins to use vs trying to custom write something myself for any task.
That's just my 2 cents.

No attachment came through. WA strips HTML and other code so if you're trying to upload that, it may be blocking it.
If you're seeking something custom, it may be a good idea to consider hiring someone to build it for you. A lot of times you can find someone to do tasks like this on fiverr.com for a very reasonable price.
With that said, I'm willing to take a look at what you're trying to do and give some guidance if I can. Maybe try writing up what functionality you are trying to accomplish and I can give it some thought.

I'm actually ahead of myself and the addition of the converter can wait a while.
