I've seen a few people have these on their posts and it definitely helps especially with longer posts. (I can't have any more plug-ins though!)

Thanks for any advice.

Jean

I'm with ya on the plugin front - I like to keep sites as minimal as possible. Not only does it help with speed, but it also greatly tightens the security of your site. I've seen some BADLY coded plugins over the years.

The easiest way to do it without a plugin is to simply add an ID to your post headings.

So example, a normal h1 heading would be formatted like this in the code of your post:

<h1>My Title</h1>

All you need to do is add an ID to it, like so:

<h1 id="my-title">My Title</h1>

Then you can target it with a link, by simply setting the link destination to #my-title

Hope that helps :)

So, that didn't work. Think I must be missing something. Any ideas?

Why not have another plugin? I have 42 active plugins on my main site including Easy Table of Contents. And it loads in less than one second.

Wow, 42! My site speed could do with a bit of a tune up so if it's not the plug ins it's something else.

Hi Marion,
You are a bit of a plugin sphinx (meant, of course, as a compliment)🙄

It's usually the size of the images, Jean. Always reduce the size of your images to the expected display size before you upload them to your media library. And make sure you've got an image optimizer such as Kraken, Smush, Imagify, or similar. If you have a header image consider ditching it in favour of a more streamlined, cleaner, minimalist look.

Hi - you can use code to create jump links, or you can use a plugin such as Table of Contents Plus.

Hello Jean,
I would like to know-how also. The best I can tell you is to check the classrooms, or live events with Jay see if he has offered training on setting up a link like that. Best wishes,
Miriam
