Hello, how do you prevent a widget form appearing on all pagess of your website? I created a widget but want it to appear on only selected pages. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

You can download and install a free plugin called Widget Options and let it do most of the job.

After activation, click on the widget to show the options and select visibility tab (“eye” icon”). Choose “Hide on Checked Pages” from the Hide/Show menu.

Hi, I have installed Widget Content Blocks plugin. I hope that helps.

Good luck,

Does this help with choosing specific pages or posts Diana? I installed the Widget Options plugin and it does have the option to choose pages or posts but not 'specific' pages or posts which then defeats the purpose to an extent. I don't want ads appearing on every page or post.

that is a difficult one to do without adding yet another plugin
as each page on your site is styled with the same sheet then to alter just a few is a bit of a pain
there are logic plugins - where you use something like is in this category and a page to determine whether the widget is shown - you may need to add another category to deal with this.
good luck

Oh, thanks. I wonder if there is another option to use rather than a widget. It's basically a product promotion widget. Are there alternative ways of doing this?

you could use a plugin i recommend for things like this called ad inserter.
you add the ad and then can set the conditions on each page to include or not.
i did use it in my training on verifying with google if you are interested you can add up to 99 different promotions and name them sensibly - adding them as you see fit
