Okay, I have downloaded the WP Review Plug in for the customer star rating and I activated and I am not sure how to apply it in my page, can anyone help me with this?

I'm learning so much! I've only been here 3 weeks so not sure what everyone is talking about, but at least I will have heard about it when I AM ready.

Hi there,

first, welcome to Wealthy Affiliate. It's good to see that you enjoy learning here and WA teaches you everything you'll ever need to be successful.

Keep following the training and apply the tasks as ask. This helps to learn with the flow and not get overwhelmed. :)

WP Review is a plugin to fancy up your reviews by giving it points like 8 out of 10, etc.

You can also set the ranking/voting to any subject like Support, Training, Price, etc.

Don't worry about it too much yet as creating reviews is a topic in upcoming trainings. :)

Let me know if there's anything I can help you with.

Take care,
Nicole

That is too funny, reading comments and blog did help me a great deal. I would just jot it down in case I came across it later.

I really like the YASR plug-in for simple star ratings. Super easy to use and you have the option and control to use it for your own reviews or to allow others to review articles, comments, products, etc.

I dont want to appear to be spamming or anything. So, if you go to my proile and click on my site and click the most recent post, which is a review, you can se the simple star rating I have at the top. SUPER easy to implement, edit, etc. Highly recommend!

I added a link for stars for customers to enter their rating, but in my preview they don't work for me, will you see if they work on your end for me, I would appreciate. If not I may take you up on your plugin!

I see the 5 stars, but it is not allowing me to rate the product on my own from my end. Again, id give YASR a try. I think you will like it. Only recently found it, has excellent reviews and very user friendly. All the best to you!

If you stick with your plugin, it may be a simple setting or check box that you have to select to allow users to rate the product. I don't know the plugin well, so im not sure. Sorry I cant be of more help with that one

Really? Hmmm, maybe I can walk you through it then. You want to set up ratings so that your visitors can rate the post, correct?

Yes, I have a page bookmarked that someone sent me to take a look at on how to do this, just haven't gotten to it yet. Have some family matters to take care of today.

OK, let me know if there is anything I can do to help. I haven't had any issues with it and I have a feeling it is probably a simple fix. It usually works that way, right? :) All the best!

Maybe I need to delete the plugin and try downloading again, or is there another one that works well....

I use WP Review myself and it works just fine. Silly question, but are you sure it's activated? Sometimes I forget to activate a plugin and also forget that I forgot to activate. :)

Yes its activated, I think I will uninstall and try downloading again. May be just one of those things to didn't quite complete. Thanks for your help.

This is where it should show up.

WP Review was my first plugin I tried for Reviews and I'm quite happy with this. There are probably other plugins but I haven't used any of them.

Hey, what is the feature name suppose to contain and also I am assuming the review I write goes in that page as well.

LoL...sometimes we simply don't see the forest through all the trees. ;)

You create your review just like a normal post. That means, your text goes in the Editor. Any other additional info is written in the Review plugin.

You can see it live in my WA Review. Scroll down and you'll see a block with lines. I like Point as Review Type the best.

I tried to enable customer reviews, I was assuming the stars would change when you clicked on the one you wanted to rate it. But when I previewed the page it didn't respond, is it suppose to, or is it just for my review ranking?

This is actually a good question. I haven't tried this yet. Did you try this on my site or your site? If on yours, it might be the case that you as the website admin or review author can't rate your own content.

I put 4 or 5 stars on them and that is how they appear to be rated, I guess since I did the review, I should rate it wouldn't you think....If you leave the number of stars blank nothing shows up, not even blank stars. Have to check out customer review stars some more, leave my rank and add a customer one perhaps.

Yes, makes sense. I just didn't get to it yet as I can see the stars both ways. Being logged in as an Admin or not logged in at all. It just says 0/5

Hi,

when you create a new post/page, simply scroll down and underneath the Editor are the settings for your review plugin.

It's a small rectangle box called "Review" and then it says "Review Type". Once you change "No Review" to "Star", "Point" or "Percentage", more features will become available.

Hope this helps

The only thing under editor is FS Contact Page and SI Captcha options, I don't see the Review in the selections.

Are you sure you're looking in the right location? Log into WordPress, then Posts --> Add New and you're in the create a post Editor. Right underneath it should show up there if the plugin is activated.
