Hi, I have an ebook ready to sell but am having trouble understanding the whole Stripe payments system. I have set up my Stripe account but am unclear where to go from here.
It looks like I nee to use 2 plugins to get it up and running. One to connect my wordpress site to stripe and one to then make it possible for the ebook to be automatically downloaded to the purchaser. Is there any other way I can do this without 2 plugins? If not, which plugins do I use? Any advice from someone who already has stripe set up would be great! Thanks :-)

Why not just use PayPal? They provide simple "Add to cart" button functionality which requires just a simple paste of code.

Handling payments via your websites really takes things to the next level. Done without plugins you need API integration which is complex (unless leveraging a PayPal style add to cart button)... So plugins are your only realistic route if you specifically want stripe.

The plugins should have documentation - that'll show you how to do it.

Thanks Dale, this makes sense to me now. I couldn't get my head around the whole plugin thing but looks like I do need one.

I decided to use Stripe because they take credit card payments and PayPal don't...apparently, so I thought this sounded like a better options. What do you think?
