Some time back, my site just disappeared( I'm serious it was gone) one minute it was here, the next it was gone. This kept going for about a week, site support kept insisting it`s there( they could see it on their end but I could not).
The few times it appeared, it was very very slow to load if at all.
since site support could not help and I could not figure what the problem could be, I removed the table press plugin just to try things.

Now I feel the need to use the plugin again, does anyone know if it will slow down my site or affect any part of my site? or has anyone had issues with the plugin?

All plugins will have an effect, some are a lot " heavier" than others as I have found out, I keep to the minimum needed to do what I want to accomplish with my site.

I also have minimum plugins as I know first hand how they can affect a site, has happened to me several times, that`s why I wanted to be sure before doing anything..

About 5 years ago I wanted to use this plugin and I realized it was not fully responsive, at least the free version of it. From what I remember yes this is a very heavy plugin.

The reason you could not see the site is probably local, need to restart the computer, flush dns, or clear cache/history search from the last week or so, in this order so some step will help, and it will be back.

Note that various free tools are not responsive so if you make a few columns they will transform into a mess on a smartphone. You do not need a plugin for such a simple table, I can give you a simple code for 3 columns it could be ok if they are (very) narrow.

The best alternative is Supsystic, they have two different plugins, use the comparison table plugin, it offers various templates that you can adjust and modify. Fully responsive and free. I have them in hundreds of posts.

you could also look into tinymce editor advanced as they have a table function and a host of other bits for your wordpress eeditor
will it slow your site down - it adds html code for tables to yur site so won't slow it down
have fun

Hey Roamy,

Every time we add a plugin it can work to slow our website down, yes. That is why Kyle's training mentions this.

If you want to no longer need the plugin, you could use a FREE online table creator. See screen print below...

You just need to remember that when you copy if from their tool that you need to paste it using your Text Editor so that the HTML code will function properly once you view your page or post.

Hope you find this helpful

All tables are now fully responsive. I use them all the time as I learned HTML in the early '90s when that was the language used to create web pages.
