Hi

These questions are for those who have used both Elementor and the Wordpress builder.

What is your overall experience with Elementor; positive or negative?
What would you say are the pros and cons of either and what would be the potential pitfalls?

Thanks in advance
Robert

I have one of my site using Elementor friend. From the beginning, I found it real difficult to start building my site. After learning the steps on how to use it properly, I was pleased with it. I don't have any plans on changing it to another at the moment. I will, at some point, if I find one that is significantly a lot better that Elementor. All the best!

Thank you very much

I have only started and find it a bit confusing.
You have on one site, which brings u another thought in my mind.
Not knowing if you have the paid or free, but if you do have the paid, are you able to install on multiple sites or would each site require a new purchase? And if you can use on more than one site, I wonder if they must be on the same host?

Sorry to pick your brain in such an unsolicited manner but I am considering the paid version.

Thanks again.

I am using the free version friend. I don't think I would need the paid version at the moment. Those are some interesting questions, which I don't have the answer to. Maybe, someone will probably show up here and provide you the answers to your questions. All the best!

i started with elementor a few years ago and added it to most of my sites....then along came the sitespeed ranking and sadly i had to remove it form my sites... although they have done a lot of work to improve the speed issues, just keep an eye on them if you do decide to go that route...
as Andy ( yumabloggers) says you can do so much more nowadays with hte block editor that in the near future you will not need a page builder...
and if you pick hte right theme ( astra) you can turn off header, footer, sidebar on any page and turn it into a landing page for you to create your design on...
good luck
phil
also know that you can save blocks and sections within the block editor for reuse to speed up content creation...but don't duplicate too much per page as google will think it is duplicate content...

Thank you

Much of that is over my head still. I have only a superficial understanding of site speed and NO understanding of Block editing.(I thought I did but when I tried it I messed it up badly)
These are areas I need to learn in.

I REALLY like the idea of setting aside sections as landing pages (landing pages also an area I need to read up on)

Thanks again

just to give you a bit of a heads up...
at the end of the year the official support for the classic editor plugin is coming to an end...
so it is really worth while setting up another siterubix site where you can play with the block editor....
it really doesn't take too much to get used to the basic editing....
i think Jay did a webinar on converting old posts into the block editor which might be worth going through....
once you know the basics then you will be well away Robert....

I installed Elementor and it seriously messed up my 2 sites. Normal posts turned into 1 long block of words, no space, no H tags nothing, and images increased sizes to 3X more.
When checking from the admin area, all looks well but when you check the posts, they are a mess even the text changes font size and color(from light black to very dark black).it`s horrible.
I`m really sorry I have to insert my link here so you understand what I`m talking about (I just hope I don`t get into any trouble)https://timelessbeautysolutions.com/best-drugstore-moisturizer-for-oily-skinyou-need-to-use/.
While trying to straighten this out, I changed themes and it looks (much better now). But still horrible
The bad thing is that I did not back up before installing the plugin so it will be a long slow process to have my site back up to normal. At first I thought it was another plugin but now I know 100% it`s Elementor.
Sent them a support ticket on Friday/Saturday and it`s only yesterday that I got an answer.I have not yet followed what they said to do as I work offline so I was just too tired, going to work on it today.
Whatever you do, backup your site first.
Having said that, I love sites created with Elementor and I`m hoping to continue using it.

I like Elementor but Love Generate Press and Generate Blocks. I can do my own custom themes usually in less time the elementor which tends to be bloated and make a slightly slower website.

Yes, many do and is said to work well with Generate Press.

Thank you
But I though Generator Press was a separate site builder, similar to Elementor and others. Are you saying GEn Press is not and that you add Elementor to Gen Press as a plugin?
