Hey Y'all
About a week ago Barryj blogged about contact form 7 included in WP Spam shield. I thought grat and set it aside for a few days. I finally got around to setting it up, and it seems as tho there is no support for it any longer, I receive a 403 forbidden error when trying to access the page.

At the moment, I have a plain box. There is no place for email address or anything. What are you all using for contact forms? Any suggestions?
Thanks for your time.
Tim

You have misunderstood. Contact form 7 is a sepaarate plugin. WP-Spamshield has it's own contact form so you don't need the contact form 7 plugin at all. I hope this clears up the confusion.

Going pretty good. I'm thinking it will give me some help once I dive into it and see exactly what has been said.

Hi.

I use Contact Form 7 exclusively too.

Contact form 7 was last updated 6 days ago - suggesting it is still supported, and WP-SpamShield was updated 4 days ago.

CF7 should work out of the box - so when you add the default code (which you'll see when you open up Contact -> Contact Forms - in the short code column you'll see something like:

[contact-form-7 id="xx" title="Contact form 1"]

..where xx is the id of your form (15, 29, 47 whatever).

If you copy and paste that into a page/post - and view the page - you should see a contact form.

Are you able to say exactly what code you've used, where you've put it, have you published the page/post, and do you have a link to it we can check for you?

All the best, Mark

Mark are you using two different plugins? Or are you using the CF7 included in the WP spam shield plugin? http://naturally-pampered-pets.com/the-difference-b…en-dogs-and-cats
This is what my contact form looks like now.
Thanks

Hi - two separate ones.

WP SpamShield protect CF7 by default.

I think what you're asking is about the comments that can be added at the bottom of the post? Again, it protect against that too by default (no setting have to be changed).

I can find your page here: http://naturally-pampered-pets.com/252-2 - seems there is a permalink issue with that page - what does it look like in the Editor, where it says Permalink...?

Sorry Mark another one of those ooops moments that I frequently have.
I finally found the theme I have been looking for and activated it and now have major clean up. But... if you still have the time and patience to look at this comment box it is all the way at the bottom of the page, after a side bar menu that is now at the bottom.
Thanks,

What I am looking at is just a box no place for name or email or anything. Are you sorry you answered me yet?

Looks a much nicer theme.

I'm not seeing any problem with the comment form though - it looks great to me.

Maybe as you're logged into your site as the admininstrator, you're not seeing what a normal "visitor" would see?

Try logging out of your site, and then viewing your page - or opening an incognito window (Ctrl + Shift + N in Chrome for Windows).

Cheers, Mark

Thanks for your infinite patience man! I'll check it. But pictures don't lie :). By the way that is without CF7 plugin. Guess it is from WP spamshield. No matter it is there.
Thanks

The comments form is part of core wordpress - it would be there whether you had contact form or WP Spam Shield.

I am using the Contact Form 7, exclusively. I also use WP Spamshield plugin, exclusively. I am not aware of any relationship between the two plugins.

Hope you are all settled in your new place, Valerie. The contact 7 form is a plugin?

Thanks Tim, I am settled and very much enjoying my new place. Yes, Contact Form 7 is a plugin, I should have included the word 'plugin' in my comment.
