Hi everyone, another question - first of all, thank you to those awesome members who helped me in my orignal questions. I am indebted, to you all for your help. I have now transferred my posts from my old domain.

I now have a new question: I don't want to delete my old website can I re-use it by deleting everything that was on it. I still want to keep the domain name as is. is this okay or do I need to do something techy?

Thanks again everyone for coming to my aide. I will do as Dale advised and focus on my one site for now :) Thank you Dale :)

Yes you can still use it - but make sure that all of the URLs to posts you moved remain 301 redirected to the new site.

Question though - do you really need 2 websites right now? It is much better to put a sole focus on one, gain good momentum with it & then look at starting another one... rather than splitting your efforts into 2 right from the off.

Okay Mr mentor I believe you are right. I will hold off and place 301 on it for the meantime. Question: if I trashed all the old posts, do I still need to 301 the old domain?, so will it still be useable if I just renew it each year, like it won't get shut down or anything, if it is unused?

Yep - you’ll still need to put a 301 redirect in place. If you don’t, then the search engine robot will assume there’s simply a temporary error with your page & will keep coming back to check. A 301 redirect tells the robot the page has permanently moved to a new place :)

You don’t need to 301 the entire domain - you can actually just redirect the individual pages if you wish, but either way you won’t lose your domain or anything :)

Great question, I was wanting to change my old website for a different niche.

I think you can remove published posts within the Wordpress dashboard. And then re-configure the whole site for your new niche.

I am interested to read the other responses from our contemporaries.

All the best on your journey. ‘Keep going strong’.

Thank you, my mentor and referrer Dale (above) has advised me to focus on one for now, and to redirect it with 301 code. I think he is right, so will put my old domain to sleep for now.

Try to create subdomain(I am not sure that is the name). But the idea is, if your domain was "assistance.com", and you want to change the niche you can create something like "questions.assistance.com"
It will still benefit from the main domain. See in your Google search console, it's a new feature. So you can keep the old content and benefit from the old domain ranking.
I hope that can help
