This might sound like a dumb question, but I'm new to all this. I tried logging in through wordpress but it tells me I have no site there.

yes I believe so. Just use the regular wordpress login URL. Yoursite.com/wp-login.php then add your username and password.

Also if you want to have someone else access your site thru WP on their own you can add them under users-new in WP admin i.e. thei email abd a password

example.com/wp-admin takes you to the same place. wp-admin lust redirects to wp-login.php
