I am learning that Wordpress.com does not support e-commerce payments such as Shopify buy now button. Can I switch to wordpress.org through wealthy affiliate? How would I go about switching. I sell physical products so wordpress.com is not going to be beneficial for me.

wordpress . org creates the program that is loaded onto your website to create your pages and posts ...keeping everything together...
what you can do is to add plugins for payments like stripe or paypal to your website here
or add woocommerce which integrates the payment modules and can become a shop type interface...

Okay perfect. I guess I was a little confused as to the difference in Wordpress.com and org. I knew WA was the hosting but I’m still figuring out all the rest. It’s a lot. However, I am getting more and more knowledge on the subject everyday. Thank you for your help.

there is a lot to take in at the start, but it does get easier as you move along the training....
i think wordpress org are regretting not stopping the other wordpress taking their name and using the com for the hosting site...
but it's happened...and they can't change it...

WA installs WordPress for us on our websites so we don't need to. That way we do everything wordpress from our websites.including plugins that will do the features we want on our websites.
