Hi WA community!

I've heard some members had a pretty horrible experience with the plugin "AMP for WP," but still wish to give it a try. I can't find the plugin when I use the search bar to add a new plugin. I have found the download url via Google, and it seems the plugin was last updated about 10 hours ago. However, I can't tell whether it is compatible with my theme (I use Focus Blog by Thrive Themes). Any way to check this? Besides is it safe to use when it's no longer listed in the WordPress admin back office?

Thank you in advance.

I've heard good things about it, and was planning on using it. We will see if it works with my theme.

Please let us know how it goes.
I finally installed another plugin "AMP for WP - Accelerated Mobile Pages for WordPress." So far, I haven't had any issues.

I am using it and have no issues. I found it in the Wordpress plugin list from within my Wordpress site.

Thanks for sharing your experience, Karen. It seems it was available but is no longer the case.

I tried that plugin but it didn't work well with my theme so I deleted it. I don't think there is a way to check if it works with your theme but upon installing it, it will state what version of WordPress it works with so you can verify if you've updated to that version of WordPress.

It has worked for many. So you can definitely test it out to see if it works with your theme.

If a free plugin is not available at wordpress.org then it may not be safe to use.

Oh dear! That was one of my concerns. It's strange that some WA members seem to be doing fine with it.

There are several plugins at wordpress.org that do the same job.

This post may help explain why it's not safe to use a free plugin that's not available at wordpress.org

I am currently using Marlin Lite although I have been looking at ReThink it seems to be a solid theme.
