I’m trying to add a visual above my post. Or below my header. I’ve tried all options. I have the twentyseventeen theme.

It sounds like you want to add a header "widget". Try the GeneratePress theme, it has that option.

Yes I’m considering changing themes. Will all my blogs/ads and links transfer to the new theme? What should I expect?

All your content will still be there but it will look different. You may have to change the size of your featured images and redo your menu and widgets.

Use the "Live Preview" option before you activate the new theme.

Ask Site Support for a staging site so you can see what difference a new theme makes or try it out yourself on a test website.

Do you mean a featured image? That's an image that you would add to every post. If so, that's a theme related issue and you may have to change your theme to one that allows featured images, like GeneratePress.

Hey Alyse,

What steps are you following in trying to a "visual" (whatever that means) to your theme?

Without more details I can only guess that you may need a notification bar which you could have by adding a plugin.

Hope you find this helpful.

Thanks for your response... what theme did you change to? When you changed did everything move over, posts, ads, pages?

Hi Alyse,
You could always ask site support to set up a staging site for you. That way you can use the staging site to test out new themes, etc.., before changing over your live site.
