Hi Alex, no need to duplicate it. Change that page to post and put it as you described, as a sticky post. Another option - some themes (like Metro Pro) allow for several static blocks/elements (pages) added on the home page, and below it there is the usual blog roll. I use this in a couple of sites.
Hi Jovo, good to see you, hope that you are traveling well. I was thinking along those lines; at one point, thank you for chiming in. I hadn't thought about putting it on the home page, an excellent strategy.
Alex
Hi - you may wish to read the following article which states "If entire pieces of content on a site are duplicated then Google will rank one and not show the other. Multiple copies of the same page does not send negative ranking signals."
https://www.searchenginejournal.com/google-duplicate-content-is-not-a-negative-ranking-factor/394321/
You could change your faq page into your home page. That is not duplicating content, just moving it.
Or, add a lnk for the faq page onto your home page. That way, you don't have to move the faq page.
Glad to hear your faq is doing well.
Rudy
Hi Rudy, I really like the way you think, thank you for sharing your insights, some food for thought. I am treading with caution which is unusual for me. Don't want to muck things up. That saying, " if it ain't broke don't fix it" is blaring out at 200 dbl's.
Alex
If you are familiar with doing A/B testing, that is an option to try setting the FAQ page as the home page for say, 7 days.
Just an idea.

Hey Alex,
What if you answered the question briefly, as well as you would by, say, telephone and then provide "For More Details" text link to your post.
That way, you are helping those who want a quick answer and those who want to understand better without duplicating your content.
Just a thought...
Hope this helps you.

I dont know how it works when transferring ownership of a domain. That is a while different thing.
Site support will be able to tell you if this is even possible, transferring a domain from one person to another.

I have just found out that Getty's Images is acquiring Unsplash. Gettys has a particular bent for defending the Images that it manages<. At times it defends staunchly.
There are many sites where you can find pictures to suit your needs. Don't get stuck with only using one, look around, you'll see there are many other free image sources.
As a photographer, I make my own images to suit my website needs...
I believe that if you search in our wonderfully accommodating search engine, you will find those training and blogs and even some questions about finding free image sources.
Do the work and be resourceful.
Rudy
That is sound advice, Rudy and I agree there are some wonderful knowledge and resources in-house.
I am curious as a photographer what are your thoughts on Getty's acquiring Unsplash? They are in expansionary mode. I would assume that other sites will be in their sights.
The ultimate is to create our own imagery and graphics. Sometimes, time constraints prevent this from happening.
That's true, it does take some time, but it's worth it if you can incorporate it into your routine. For example, set aside some ideas of what images you want to use.
Re Getty, I need to look into this. I hadn't hear about any takeovers, and am curious as to why they Getty chose to do this...
Rudy
Hey Alex,
Personally, I will no longer use that website. The acquisition is not one I am happy about indeed. After the shenanigans that company has pulled on website owners over the years, I refuse to buy or use ANYTHING associated with them.
One day they give, next day the sue.
That's my take on this, of course.
Hi Trish, thank you for chiming in, in the back of my mind I have similar reservations, I too have heard and observed stories over the years. I think it is astute to be aware and take action as necessary. I for one will avoided Unsplash until the dust settles.
The second one you mentioned Rudy... and now that they have acquired the first on you mentioned, it too will be avoided like the plague.
And Thank YOU for bringing this to our attention Alex. I shall avoid that site like the plague as it will only be a matter of time before their lawyers have corralled enough suckers to make it worth their while to start handing out law suits though candy.
Thanks, Trish.....good to know.
I did not ever use anything from either location.
I will look into what this means to those who've submitted photos to either.
Those who submit to these sites are trying to profit, so they SHOULD be okay... though, as a photographer, I think I'd find a better stock photo site to sell from than THAT business to deal with.
Am not a fan of sleazy businesses at all.
Good to flag Alex... canva premium is a good option if you are playing around with images and I also have a subcription with evanto. I think it going to get stricter as the market shrinks in terms of ownership... it will be interesting to see if a new entrant will challenge the status quo, bizarrely it is happening with pensions in the UK, anything that breaks the competition for more choice is a good thing...
don't get me started on broadband lol
Awesome, Phil; broadband. I can hear the screaming in the valleys tonite, a global issue for sure.
Thank you for joining the conversation; more and more, it feels like we need to look at that subscription-based model, especially if we are creating content for third parties and we want the security for our own content creation.
Canva pro would be a good resource, along with Evanto.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts.
I am a Canva pro too. But can I download that photos and use them on my site?
I thought it was always in connection with the material Canva has on their site.
Unsplash has been my key source. At the same time that I have the opinion that it is fair to pay for the photos, my budget is too low for it so...
Getty have always great photos but their price is too much.
Thanks for the heads up. I don't like the sound of that as I have loads of Unsplash photos. Hopefully it will only apply to new ones as the others were acquired when free. In which case I will change my source.
Hi Geoffrey, you are most welcome, knowing can be half the battle. I was thinking along the same lines; usage internet-wide would be massive; presumably, it would change moving forward. The status quo would remain for images already in use.
So that is another free site for stock images gone then. Getty are a nightmare. They tried to take us to court for $4000 not long after we started in 2008 for supposedly using one of their images!!!
We managed to sort it eventually without paying but it nearly caused us to give up before we had really started online, just the stress of it.
Hi, Jon. Thank you for sharing your experience. The internet is awash with situations like yours. They are staunch. I am pleased that you managed to sort the situation.
One of the classic stories I came across is that they tried to sue a photographer for the use of an image; the long and short of it, the photographer was the originator of the image.
Go figure that one.

Hi, Abie. Thank you for your speedy response; as we speak, I have the word press beginner post up on my screen.
Thank you for sharing that other resource; I have not seen that.

Wpbeginner is an excellent source.
You can also check out various plugins by selecting add new plugin, type in directory in search bar, then check out each of the ones that seem to fit your needs..
What type of directory you need will help when selecting the actual product/plugin.
I dont forsee using a directory at this time but I can offer suggestions towards finding the best one for you...

Hi Alex,
been thinking of collecting a couple of domain names from an investment point of view... but as opposed to being a liability the end of the year I am looking for the easiest way to turn them into a self paying asset... like if they could earn about five dollars a month each that would be good...
Do you have a way that I could do that that you would be willing to share with me?
Yours truly
John
Yes Jeff, looking to be more organized in 2021, WA domains really impress me with such a user-friendly interface I wish the same could be said for some of the other providers. Some can cause some real issues and seem to be more interested in making money than providing a user-friendly, customer-focused service.
Alex
Hey Alex, Excel works for me. I use it for a ton of web stuff to keep sorted and easily retrievable.
Hi Rudy, looks like Excel is the management tool of choice it can be a power pack for sorting and keeping track of things. Good to be focusing on something that works.
Thanks for sharing.
Alex
Hi Alex,
As you and a couple of others have said... I use Excel to keep track of my domain names. I find it's the easiest way to keep track of the registrars, hosts and expiry dates for all my domains.
It's encouraging to see I'm not the only one who seems to collect domains!
Jacquie
Hi, Jacquie good to meet you, and thank you for responding. It does seem to come with the territory. Collecting is one thing managing and realizing is another altogether.
Spreadsheets can be perfect friends.
Alex
I used to use an excel spreadsheet, but then eventually I let most expire and only have a few today.
It is a natural process and collecting domain names seem to be a part of it all. thank you for sharing Thomas, Excel can be a really good friend when it comes to keeping tabs on things.
