What Did The Old Affiliate Marketer Say To The Young Affiliate Marketer ?

Affiliate marketing has so many different variations and aspects to it.

One of the key aspects is to initially gain the knowledge in order to participate in this industry. We are certainly doing that here at Wealthy Affiliate. The second and probably most important thing to do is implement that knowledge in a practical way.

Using an industry standard Take action.

Your journey may just be starting or you may be further down the track. In any case, we know more than we did yesterday and will know more tomorrow.

My accountant has this fixation on saying "what is measured can be managed". As far as affiliate marketing goes there are many ways to measure and make changes based on that measurement. Looking from the point of view of our individual journeys. What would your old affiliate marketer self say to your younger self? An interesting exercise if we are honest it can open doors that will help our future progress. So what advice would you give your self in three words?

Just a thought for the day, after a speed wobble yesterday.

Thank you for reading.

Don't think I'm really qualified on this one yet, Alexander. Ask me again in a year or so. :)

"or so" more likely...:)

Who knows how long-it's a journey, right? :)

When we buy a ticket, we usually know, unless we hitch-hike...:)

I used to do that just for the adventure of it, before we learned it could be dangerous! Got my golden ticket! :)

That happened to me too. My friend and I once went to Kiev(Ukraine)getting from one local train to another. At night, practically with no money. What made me do it? Obviously he had some influence over me... lol What was it called? hitch-training? :)

Hi Rick you will surprise yourself, you probably know and realize more than you realize if that makes sense. From when you walked through the door to now is a massive leap of something.
Alexander

Would you, could you, on a train? How about train-hiking? :)

You're right, of course, Alexander. I do know more than I did, but, hopefully, a lot less than I'll know a year from now! :)

I would have to second that one Rick, I would even have trouble threading water for that long without moving forward in the knowledge stakes.

You won't believe- my previous comment was about it.. You can see it a comment before...I even gave this very name to it. My friend and I did hitch-(aaa I said- hitch-training...) to Kiev. I must have been crazy to do it. Now I think he said some secret word to me... hahaha...
Since the comments are mixed up again, I will put my name here...
It's me, Vera... :)

I'm a good swimmer, but I can dog paddle, too. :)

My brain can not totally follow zigzags of your thought...OK- ever swum in really salted water? :)

My brain does zigzag a lot. I really can hold a coherent conversation when I restrain myself, Vera. I once was in The Great Salt Lake in Utah-it's very salty-you can float, even if you usually struggle to do so. I'm a good floater-how about you? (it's somewhat about breath control) :)

Yes, it's funny when things are mixed up. I'm sure my comments sometimes don't help, in that regard. It's me, Rick... :)

hahaha...:)

I would admit-yes, a floater, not a swimmer...And I am a good bath taker...could do it for hours...(ok, not hours, an hour- just get the water hotter and the foam smell nicer)... and a shower taker... Cold shower in the morning- it's really something...:)

Cold shower: Something I do not do. I like hot showers. :)

:)

I thought so . Until I tried...Boost of energy is immense. Didn't catch even slight cold during the winter...Beneficial for the skin because of the change of the temperature. I contrast cold water and hot water... ( though I was shouting-aaaaaaaaaaa!- when I just started:)

That's one thing that's too extreme for me! :)

It's extreme for me too...))) But I know one trick...If you pour the water not on your body, but on your head (of course you need to check it so it will not be extremely hot), it's much less traumatic for the body because-- aaa don't know why... it's just easier... lol try it one time and you will thank me. It's especially beneficial if you have things to be done and you feel your energy is low...
well, I think I could sell things, right?

I do not like cold showers, Sam I Am, nor too hot, either. I don't want to cook my body like a Lobster! I may thank you for lots of things-cold showers are not one of them, :)

OK, OK...:)

:)

:))

Could you send me some link to more of your songs when you have a chance please? You are really versatile, you and the music you play...very interesting...:)

Thanks-The only place we have them right now is Reverbnation. Hope to have many more eventually. Lots of energy going into WA, performing, and my day job. :)

OK thanks... doesn't seem a very user-friendly resource. Or maybe I myself screwed up signing up...Ok, I will try again from another email account... Really want to see (hear) a bigger picture... :)

It is not very user friendly, but we're not sure how to make it friendlier. Again, tech raises it's ugly head! :)

oh yeah...(((

Keep it going!
Never give up.
This is simple.
Trust your heart.
Do it now.

Well said Arief, some action packed motivational and inspirational words just what we need to keep us on track and pumped. thank you.
Alexander

I would say believe in yourself, and start now. Cause I saw this many years ago and would be a wealthy affiliate by now if I had done this then:-))
Steph

That is so true Steph, some very good advice to give your younger self. If we are honest I think that there are quite a few of us that would share the same sentiments. But like someone famous once said there is no time like the present. Thank you for your comment.
Alexander

Just Do It!
Do Not Quit!

We think alike... look up my comment...)))

Stella comment Jewel Carol, never quitting will keep failure at bay. If only we knew then what we know now. Thank you for dropping by.
Alexander

Hey Vera, great minds think alike, lol. :))

Yes, Alexander, yes, if only we knew then what we know now! ;))

It would save a lot of time and heartache I am sure, but then at the end of the day, we probably wouldn't change a thing.

"Just do it"- no one created anything better...:)

Well said Vera, cut to the chase and get on with it. Thank you for your comment.
Alexander

Stop smoking now!

That is a very good suggestion, you are on top of that one Jude?
Alexander

Yep, had my last one on January 13 :)

Well done Jude, it can be hard .

Congratulations, Jude! That is a tough thing to do.

Thanks Lisa :)

Do not panic.

That is some really good advice Cheryl, that we all should heed. thank you for that one awesome.
Alexander

You're welcome.

Content, content, content.

I think you have hit the nail on the head and driven it home Janelle thank you, but so very true.,
Alexander

ouch

Great blog and an interesting exercise to do. I will have to think about this! There is a lot I would say to my younger self about life in general, but it would take too long! Lol

I think the saying goes if only a knew then what I know now. The trouble is that when I was younger I knew everything lol. The passing years remind me how wrong I was. Thanks so much for dropping by Lisa, really enjoyed your response, it would take us all a very long time to make our points for sure.
Alexander

"Post more often". Those are the three words I would say. I know I have not been posting enough.

Great thought Alexander!

Hi Jessica , how is that vehicle of yours going hope you are getting it sorted. That is such a good idea of yours there, I think many of us will relate to that one. Thank you.
