Those Super Evergreen Niches

When thinking in terms of selecting a niche for some reason the mind can go blank.

Take your passion use it and you can not go wrong.

Ok but I am not a passionate person I don't really have any passions, life is way too busy.

Not sure why but there is a tendency to think in terms of reinventing the wheel making things way more complicated than they need to be when it comes to selecting a niche. I have probably suffered from this malaise without really realizing it.

One of the things that always sticks in my head was this reference from a proficient, marketer; " stick to the basics and do them well and you will not go far wrong in this industry." For some reason, it can be so easy to overthink some stuff.

When looking at niches there are so many, if lost just look at the ones that seem to be evergreen for some inspiration. By evergreen the ones that have been around for ages and will continue to be so, the ones that already have a waiting audience.

Health, Wealth, and Love.

No matter how we evolve with our modern world these three categories have been there forever. By drilling down into them we can find some really good money making opportunities. My thought is focusing on the fact that many of these sub-niches already have an audience of passionate folks ready to fork out money if the right information and offer is presented if it speaks directly to the problem that they are currently facing.

I have recently discovered and I am only speaking from a personal point of view, we do not necessarily have to have that overpowering passion for our chosen niche, what is more, important is that the niche has an audience. I think that the passion can develop as we progress and drill down into the niche we are creating a business around.

Breaking it down the four Find's of the niche process

  • Find that audience, where do they hang out, their goals and aspirations.
  • Find out what their problems are.
  • Find products or services that will solve their pain points.
  • Find ways to introduce that product or service to the audience

The first element is to do some research, really look into things, For some reason, I seem to be gravitating toward the health niche at the moment.

" A huge 68% of consumers use anti-aging products on a daily basis."

Look for substantiated facts, don't accept things at face value dig down and really analyze what you find. The advertising world is very good at creating compelling sales and promotional copy. Our job as marketers is to cut through the hype and in doing so find that way to connect with a waiting audience.

The above statement would prick up the ears of any marketer, give me a little bit of that action. Follow the process and it should all be good. At face value, there is a waiting group of consumers, people who will be actively seeking knowledge and products and services. This can be applied across the other niche categories mentioned.

With the readily available information that we all have at our disposal folks are starting to take more responsibility for their health, wealth, and relationship well-being. In a world of connectivity, we are in a prime position as marketers to make and create many opportunities.

If you are stuck or looking to expand then consider something from the evergreen niches menu, the key is that the content consumers and product and service buyers are already there.

I would like to share a story about niche selection....I recently purchased a rear back up camera for my Motor Home. I did not know this but most older models and many newer models do not come with back up cameras...I found wireless back up cameras on e-bay at a cost of 70,00 and there is a company with a terrific web site...tech support and an entire phone bank of customer service people who have build a niche around these products...the same $70.00 piece of equipment they have contacted the manufacturer and re-branded these under their name and now sell them in the $299.00 range..Same product...huge markup...Their name stamped onto it. Re Branding a popular product is Niche selection creativity everyone should think about!!!

That is really interesting John rebranding with focused marketing can really create so many opportunities. Your response has certainly got me thinking, It is like you say another way to look at things, Thank you for stopping by much appreciated.

Thanks...I don't necessarily suggest re branding with this high of a markup...but their model works and even if you choose a product and price it the same...the fact that it is re branded and you offer some sort of additional expertise to the customer makes it more appealing

That makes perfect sense John, it is something well worth investigating my thinking cap is on.

excellent thank you. I find your advice right on...

Hi John you are most welcome, just some food for thought worked for me.

Hi Alex - I think what you are saying is so true - sure, we might have other passions (which may be harder to make money from) but if cutting our teeth in the niche area, you should be safe to try one of those. Once you see results, the passion could grow from the sheer excitement of that.

Hi, Katharina something that is common to us all results do create excitement and from that excitement, we can develop that passion for carrying on. I think it was Kyle who said your first website will not be your last. Once we learn the ropes so to speak we can continue to grow, thank you for sharing your thoughts.

Nice. Helpful words.

Hi Zoila, you are most welcome, glad you found them useful.

Hi Carol, you are most welcome pleased that you found it interesting.

Good piece of information.

You are most welcome.

great article Alexander! very topical for me, I actually was heavily interested in sleep and sleep products but on a couple of negative comments (no market for sleep) spent the last 3 years looking through other niches (unsuccessfully) only to return to sleep in the last month or two. I now feel excited again to be back to doing something I am passionate about - it makes a world of difference
regards
Ian

Hi, Ian, it is amazing how we can be put off when we are taking those shaky first steps, sounds like you are back on track. following from the post problems sleeping is such a widespread affliction across many demographics so good to return and bring some passion to it all the best.

thanks Alexander

No worries Ian.

Health products will always be a good evergreen niche Alex!

It seems so Mike as we all strive to live longer and enjoy the best of health.
