The Reverse of Spam
Not sure if this is good practice or not, using an exclusive email for sign ups sort of keeps your valued email addresses free from the less desirable traffic.
It is a practice that I have adopted, the address is just so polluted but still, there are some real gems in there which I migrate. It is a way to keep tabs on what is going on in your little slice of the internet paradise.
How are affiliates marketing, what swipes are they using, what frequency, how relevant are the communications what value are they broadcasting and so it goes.
The real easy way to keep tabs is to access through a smartphone and just scroll and scan read the sender and subject titles. You can train yourself to do this as long as you keep FOMO in check. Always on the look out for what folks are doing and promoting call it research it doesn't take a lot of time and can and real value to your endeavors.
Periodically I will go through and unsubscribe it is relatively easy to sort the gold from the sand.
I know that you said you are anti-spam that is why you email me five times a day with those generic email swipes that you picked up somewhere online for $ 4.95 that is another story altogether.
One of the things that I do is use different names for sign ups so I get an idea of the flow, you are not going to share my email but it is funny how I am getting emails from randoms I don't even know.
You will be thinking that this guy is over the top but it is business and every little bit of knowledge has a purpose.
I have digressed from where I started one of the really interesting things that I find so strange and one that so many folks are doing. Your pop-up or landing page is offering value and I have signed up to whatever, your newsletter, course etc. you have gone to the effort of getting sign ups, collecting email addresses and then proceed to send one newsletter of little or no relevant value and then I never see you again.
It seems to be so common the reverse of spam I know, the opportunity to create that relationship is lost.
Your thoughts would be appreciated.

I sign up to so many newsletters and class myself as a rank amateur but if you are making offers then it makes sense for them to be congruent with the theme song of your website or am I missing the point somewhere.

Thanks it has been a while since we started out on this journey many folks have come and gone so I think it is kind of special that folks go the distance.
I've signed up for so many newsletters and use just one main email. I also am not afraid to unsubscribe when the information is no longer relevant to my needs. Thanks for posting this, Alexander.

I like your idea of having one email for the different newsletters you sign up to. You are correct, some people share great information. Others, not really. However, that is the nice thing about email. It is easy to delete without opening.
That is so true Sondra we can avoid them all together if we want to. I was always hesitant about signing up for things doing it this way I can do it with impunity, obviously, you encounter some real spam kings but the flip side you get some really good information. The key for me is the observation of how others work and relate online. Thank you for sharing your thoughts.
I have also started doing that with email addresses. WA was the worst. Too many useless...'Thought of this or that', BUT WA also has some good stuff. WA is not as useful to me as it once was so I send very few people here nowadays.
I also recently purchased some classes in Plugin writting an PHP itself through one of these aliases. It seems to be working well for us. I know we are much bigger than most so this may not be for everyone.
I suppose if you have got all the portals switched on you get a lot of emails via WA they are so varied in nature for sure. If we engage in a positive manner WA provides many opportunities.
That is awesome there is a huge market in the plugin creation niche either as a means to collect leads or product sales. Keep us up to date on your progress I would be most interested.

I have an email account that I can create up to 10 emails at a time. If I need one that can be used as a throw away, I run over there, make one, use it and can delete it later. It's cheap but is not an obvious Gmail, Hotmail or Yahoo something..
