The Most Important Question You Should Ask Your Self

Creating a successful online business can be one of the most challenging and rewarding things that we can do. It has so many similarities to the bricks and mortar industries, but it does have so many differences.

At the end of the day, business is business

When we talk in terms of internet marketing it is such a general statement just like " an online business ", what on earth are you talking about. This in its self can be a problem not only for the general public but also for folks that are involved in the industry. Especially when we are starting out. many stumble at this stage, we can get overwhelmed and we can give up without really realizing what the game was all about.

If we were to ask a group of internet marketers "what it is that they do", we would get so many different answers. Not to say one is right and one is wrong, they are just different that's all.

Defining what we do is the number one challenge we face at times, in all areas of our lives.

Could you concisely define what you do by writing it down or by telling someone in say fifty words or less so the person you are communicating with has a clear understanding of what your activities are, easier said than done?

Try it, it can give you real definition moving forward. Probably starting out here at WA we are blessed, the process is defined the knowledge is structured we can obtain the knowledge and resources, we can create a website. having said that we can still get lost along the way.

When we can define what it is that we are doing we are well on the way to achieving the success that we desire.

There are so many roads to success in business and there is one common question that is shared between the online and offline world, no matter where you are starting from or at what stage of the business cycle you are at.

The question is and it is simple

What are you going to sell?

That is the core value that has defined business forever.

Once we work that one out it can shape and define our businesses as we develop them.

What am I selling?

The first realization that needs to be made is that internet marketing is no different to any thing else, at a basic level it is about selling. In this case, we are using the internet as a vehicle to sell stuff so what we are doing is internet marketing

Embrace the selling mindset it can be the path to success. At the very start, we need to define what it is that we intend to sell. Initially that I can be difficult I have battled with this question, we still need to have it on our radar at the very least.

It can be a curly question at the beginning when our knowledge and skill base is not sufficient to meet our expectations.

Many folks get into internet marketing and do not front up and ask this very question. So if you haven't then, sit down and ask yourself. It will change as your skill set changes and develops and as changes occur and trends emerge in the market that you are involved with change, that is a given. The stating point remains the same.

My parting shot is, " what is it that you are selling ".

Some food for thought me thinks.

HI Jen , you are most welcome, it is a question that we all face The sooner we go through that process the quicker we can create the focus we need to succeed. Thank you for stopping by i really appreciate it.

Thanks Alex,
With my niche, I need to spend some time on this question.

Hi Juliet, as our content expands sometimes that question will be answered. It can be helpful to focus on that question, once we start thinking about it answers will start to arrive for us. The key is to take a broad approach to it. thank you for stopping by and I am glad that you found some value in the post.

Yes Alex. Never forget your purpose!

You have hit the nail on the head, Mike once we have the purpose it becomes easier to evolve strategies to create our success.as always thank you for your wise input.

Many thanks! Sue :)

Hi Sue you are most welcome, I hope that you found some value in the post.

Great post, Alexander. I need to ask myself these questions on my niche.

Thanks,

Wayne

Hi, Wayne, I hope that I did not upset your day, it is about asking ourselves that question.

Many times I hear folks going on about the journey which to a degree is a falsehood, it makes it sound very nice but at the end of the day it is about selling and once we grasp what we are selling the way forward gets some real clarity.

Completely agree. It doesn't matter whether you are selling a product or services at the end of it all, we are selling. Thanks again for sharing.

Wayne

Marketing industry is not about selling product, it is about "buyers mind set". We all do like that. Many time we buy stuff what we don't need....
(Our blogs and reviews should be about "buyers mind set"

Great post. Thanks

Hi, Peter thank you for sharing your insight really appreciate it.

The story is about the person that buys our products, without customers we do not have a business our content offerings should be very mindful of the needs of the buyer thank you.

I think I would say something like: 'I'm in the coaching business. I show people how they can turn their own interests and passions into money on the internet.'

But I wouldn't have been able to say that before reading your post. I had to think about it. Thanks for the eye opener :-)

Cheers
Richard

Hi Richard
I am pleased that you found some value in the post.

The whole essence of stopping and defining what it is that we are actually selling can be so empowering moving forward. You can get lost in the buzz of the online world and forget about the basics.

Thank you for your input much appreciated.

Absolute the most critical question. "What are you selling?"

There are the tangential abstractions of products and services often called features that people can easily confuse as the solution.

For example, people might say, "I sell web hosting."

Not true. Actually, "You offer people a channel to reach a broad or narrow audience to offer solutions."

Once, people understand what they are actually selling, it all explodes from there.

Kyle

Hi, Kyle thank you very much for your response, we all need to work out what we are actually selling.,from here we can develop how and where we want to take the enterprise. It can be challenging but the exercise is critical.

I realize that it can be hard to define what it is that you are selling, especially when we are just starting out, I really struggled with that one. Now it forms the starting point for any endeavors that take on, it is a mindset kind of thing. if we are doing Affiliate Boot Camp it is clearly defined we are promoting Wealthy Affiliate.we are in effect selling WA, hope this helps.
