Nothing Like Saying Hello and Creating that Network of Connections

Starting out online can be such a hard thing to do when we first think of it, going by all the hype it should be a piece of cake. after the first little while that realization sets in that maybe this gig may just be a little bit harder than it looks and feels.

But then if it was easy everyone would be doing it right.

Long after your friends and loved ones have given up asking you how it is going, all alone you come around a bend in the road and everything just starts falling into place and you have this clarity of exactly what you are doing and where you are going and more to the point the message that you are delivering. I am sure that is how it rolls, not for everyone but I imagine that this is the way it happens for many.

"The thing at this stage you are just light years from where you started and the only thing left to do is keep forging ahead because there is nothing else to do, bar that."

The thing is that the Journey could have been a lot easier, hindsight is a great thing, we can all get busy just being busy.

" Focus that busy and things really start happening."

One of the things that can slip by so easily is that networking factor something that can add real value to your business aspirations. Building relationships and connections can pay huge dividends as we move forward. It can be as simple as someone in your network putting you straight about something when you are goofing off or just that opportunity that you haven't seen, it could be that software or marketing product or even just the opportunity to help folks out.

"No matter how you connect there are huge benefits in creating those mutually beneficial relationships."

One of the great things about WA is that you have the opportunity to make these connections with like minded folks that are in a relative position to you, so it makes sense to forge these relationships. Not just for what you get from them and the rewards are many but also what you can give in return. If I am being brutally honest some folks online just rub me the wrong way, our energies are incompatible, no other way to say it, having said that if you take the time to get to know someone, they grow on you, they actually are really good value there is so much to it, always be on the look out to learn and share.

"Learn to work it and to create those connections and it does take work, oh and probably try not to fall into the trap of kidding your self."

You may be following or being followed by XXX amount of people the question we need to ask our selves is;

Are we engaging with that amount of folks?

The whole process is about learning to manage situations, learning to engage and learning how to respond to folks that are in your network. If we can do that then we can take that learning and spread it across our online presence. I look at my own engagement and there are areas where I could improve, lots of areas, cringing as he writes. That honest reflection can bring out some real positives if we reflect but also look at taking action on the ways we can improve and change the areas that we are not so good at .

"Starting out online you may not know many folks it can be so useful to forge those tight connections they are the ones that bring real benefits to all parties."

It is just a reflection that I have had, it is easy to form connections with folks that are at the same level or slightly higher, than it is to make those connections with folks that are more advanced, I am only coming from an online business perspective here, in terms of a business and presence kind of thing. Those relationships can bear some very good returns moving forward, in terms of accountability, knowledge and sharing experiences.

"So the question at the end of the day 20 focused colleagues or 20,000 follow/followers that you don't connect or engage with."

A slightly different scenario if you have a massive email list to which you are adding value to and they are rewarding you by clicking on your offers, "total ring up from the beach once a week to see how the week has gone and to see if you are needed in the office or is it better to stay away for fear of getting in the road and mucking up a good thing", even that has some reflective comparisons.

Thank you for reading folks, would really love to get your take on things, have a great weekend and make the most of every opportunity to say hello and make some connections.

Alex.

Connections are very important in running an internet business...I really like this post and the way you help us all with being better at what we do! Thanks Alex!

Hi Keith very good to see you, making those connections are the life blood if an internet business, for many of us that is a bridge that takes some work to build. Thank you for reading and commenting.

I really like the spirit of the community to always be on the look out to learn and share with one another. Thanks, Alex

Hi, Carol, it is extraordinary for sure, the sharing is unique in terms of the industry a real selling point.

Good perspective on networking. We always have to keep in mind our intention and build the network according...whether it's to learn, make friends, or sell a product would determine how large the network and what type of network. You always bring up good points to think about. Thanks. Debbie

They are very good points that you raise Debbie, really agree the outcomes are such a big part of our determination when it comes to creating engagement and connections online. thank you for sharing your thoughts.

As always, enjoy your posts and learn so much. Have a great weekend.

That is good to hear Nancy, you have a good weekend as well .

Great reflection...I've only been with WA for 6 weeks and although I'm still finding my way through this amazing online journey, forging valuable friendships (a 2-way streak) is a win-win to help keep me and others moving forward and aiming for the sky!

Our aim should be to follow a cross selection of people irrespective of status in WA because you never know what you will learn from someone at rank 2,000 vs. rank 20!! We don't know their life skills and experiences so don't judge.

I'm not suggesting to blindly follow everyone but try to seek out a cross section of people that you may over time see mutual benefit...just my thoughts!
Cheers Gina

So true we are in a unique position in terms of the wider internet community and one that we shouldn't under value, the support of the community here at WA and the connections that are made definitely help folks travel farther than they necessarily would under their own steam so a real blessing.
You make a really valid point never judge a book by its cover let the words speak for themselves, looks like you are finding your way around WA very well. thank you for dropping by and sharing your thoughts.

Right you are Alex. Focus on friending and collaboration here and forge the greatest of business networks in the process!
