Everyones Working For The Weekend

It is not like a real business, that working online from home, like it is not like a job.

To the outside looking in it is not, I mean we all use technology so we all know what it is about we have Facebook and everyone uses YouTube, it's not like a real job. No, for those looking on it is very much like a play thing, because that is what everyone does with technology.

One of the biggest hurdles that we face as online marketers in those initial phases is convincing the ones around us usually family and friends that this is a serious venture and we mean business.

I can hear you groaning from hearing it is true, even your most hardened fans will start to lose faith at some stage of the journey. Are we there yet will become that echo statement, what are you doing.

We all go through that one, on reflection, it does change of course when funds start flowing the other way, we believed in you all along.

" how you do that "

Working from home brings its own set of values and challenges, to be honest, it is so easy to blow it right out of the gates. I am definitely a work in progress.I wish that I had started implementing some of the things that I am now doing earlier in the game it would have saved so much time.

Some of the things

1, On a weekly basis establish how many hours you have to devote to your online marketing, be realistic, all of us only get seven days. 168 hours so how many hours not set in stone but how many hours do you have.

2, Planning is another biggie, create lists and work schedules, and try to pick up that project where you left it the day before.

3, Create a work time or day and function in breaks and the big one a finishing time it is so easy to go day and night for some reason us humans lose track of time as soon as we go online.

How many times have you done the 5 minute becomes three-hour excursion?

4, If you can create a work space somewhere that you gravitate toward to work. The great thing about this is that all your gear is there. Top of the range is that office with all your favorite things in it, awesome, even if you can not start there put it on to your vision screen.

5, Structure your day discover your natural rhythm we all do some tasks better at different times sort out your working life, the best time to write, the best time to research, the best time to take that break the best time to engage with social media.

6, Focus on what you are doing if you expect disruptions plan ahead function them in, so they are not a problem.

7, Get out and about take your show on the road the ultimate lifestyle online dream it is good practice. I am gravitating to the library fast internet, stop off for a coffee at the cafe check emails using their Wi-fi when there all good.

8, On reflection, we are own worse enemies, it is about managing the folks that are around us so we can in effect get on with the job at hand. If we don't, that is where the problems start, try to educate, so they understand we are creating and working a business. If we don't do this then we will fall prey to " well it's not really a job syndrome "

Closeout

It is so easy to go hard out and see little results due to our efforts not being coordinated we do not develop our full potency and basically drift on. We need to accept that due to us being at home things will encroach on our time if we have a game plan we can minimize the effects of this occurring.

We need to focus on developing tech skills and obtaining knowledge and training.

Well Hello WA all sorted.

The real biggie weekends do you still have them or is it a case of the week becoming one big Monday morning.

If you get one thing from this post think about the weekend do you still have them or are they on the back burner. I will just get to this point and have this in place and then I will start having a weekend again. that mindset may be counter productive.

The game changer is that we need to look at what we are doing as being a business or a professional occupation if we start promoting that then it has a trickle on effect to the folks that you share your life with.

Just a pre-weekend ponder. I would realy like to hear your thoughts.

Alexander

Weekends? What Weekends?

Classic Arthur one day is like the other the edges get blurred over time, with affiliate marketing every day can become like the weekend if it is done right. So we all need to push on, awesome

I like to have some time off at weekends Alexander. I will tune into Jay's Webinar tomorrow morning but I like to do all my writing Mon - Fri. That isn't always possible so sometimes I will do one day at weekend but usually half a day.

Great post, Alexander!

Hi, Rebecca I am so pleased that you liked it. just some thoughts with the weekend coming up.

Hi Alexander, great post. During the week time I have loads of (other) work obligations so my WA time isn't planned or structured, it's just snatched, normally in the evening and when possible carrying on till late at night. As a result I really look forward to the weekends as my time for spending more time on my website. Do i have a weekend? Absolutely! But maybe not the traditional kind :-)

Hi Soraya, thank you so much for sharing I guess we are all caught up ion the 9 to 5 Monday to Friday probably went out the window yonks age replaced by split shifts and no hour seven-day a week contracts, working at home is ticking all the boxes and some. it is so easy to pull those late night shifts tapping away at the keyboard, me, thinks we ned that balance so pleased that you manage to create that weekend and who said it had to be at the weekend.

hi Alex .. you are so right .. i have no any time to take rest

just work..work .. try to make my web ok..and thinking of content

all the time some time forget to eat haha

Oh no Salama, not a good way to go, it is so easy to get caught up in the online world especially if we are working to improve our lives of ourselves and our loved ones, It is about finding that balance easier said than done sometimes if we are aware we can make progress to our goals and aspirations, thank you so much for sharing your insights.

I have to say, Alex, that now I'm getting closer to my mid life birthday (I'll leave it to your imagination to guess which one I'm referring to!), I crave to be able to earn my living from home so badly, that I tend to spend my annual leave from work at home. And I've even made a website about it!!
But yes, when at home and with all that time in hand to dedicate to my business, well then you can see the queen of time mismanagement in me. Shambles!!

Hi, Giulia craving that lifestyle change is that point we need to get to in order to tip us over the edge.Home life freedom is the way to go.for sure.
That is so classic we all have the best of intentions, half the reason for sharing, it is about becoming aware and looking at ways to get organized. Vanishing time disease is always waiting to grab hold of us. especially if we work from home. Thank you so much for sharing your views really appreciate it.

Great information, since I started with WA I don't have weekend anymore but I enjoy being busy because before WA I needed to do something during the weekend. The most important is doing it at home and at my own space.
Thanks for sharing :)

Way to go Odile, no weekends are ok it is about finding our own balance, looks like your journey is unfolding very well all the best.

There is something special about going the work at home journey just adds another dimension to our lives creating that lifestyle is so special. The really cool thing about being at WA we can achieve it by utilizing the knowledge and resources that are available to us as premium members. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and experience.

Great Post Alexander .. I do not have any days off .. but I have part of some days off if that makes sense. Eg this weekend .. work Saturday till mid afternoon, then early church with wife and daughter (I am only there for "rent-a-crowd") then St Patricks Day Party in the evening; Sunday work in morning, midday driving lesson with daughter (scary) then to movies "Beauty and the Beast" with wife and daughter, then work in evening. Weekdays have a mix too but with a higher work content. Cheers, William.

Classic Willliam, it can be such a juggling act sometimes, looks like you have it well sorted.I like your style.

Thiis way of life is a void if you don't structure it Alex!

Some words of wisdom Mike, a structure is so important, processing all the information that we have to, in the beginning, we can tend to lose sight of the basics.

You have some good ideas... Creating a work schedule is a good idea.
Ed

Hi, Ed I was a bit slap dash in the beginning but making up for it now, that work schedule can certainly be very productive thank you for stopping by.
