Claim Your Name Before Someone Else Does
There are so many folks online trying to create that lifestyle or that business that will fund that lifestyle change. One of the first ports of call is the name that you are going to use to create your online presence.
" Someone suggested when I was starting out that it could be a good idea to claim your name."
It could be your own name or that name that has arrived from that flash of genius. You may not necessarily be going to use that name but if you have purchased it then it is yours to use, sell or do whatever with.

The number of folks on the face of the earth when I knocked off counting this afternoon.
What are the chances of someone claiming your name?
What are the chances that someone is online at the same time as you, have the same name as you, doing online marketing and thinking in the same terms and way as you?
Well, the chances are pretty high.
That name in most cases will be parked up somewhere, just collecting dust. The cost of claiming and registering that that name is relatively small and doing it here in house at WA, a straightforward and seamless process. So if you are going to be around for a while, when those " aha " moments arrive, then act on them, take action.
So when that blessing arrives act on it today do it now don't put it off until tomorrow, your competition never sleeps, as I learnt today.
Not the end of the world if you miss out, that is when you push the creativity button and let the fun begin.

Hi Debbie, something to think of for sure it can be an advantage moving down the track, it can also extend to your name across the various social media platforms as well.
Excellent post .Funny thing is...I just added some additional funds to my bank account this week end to do just that. When I purchased my domain name I noticed a couple more good ones for larer down the road were available. Going to buy them up today.

I was pretty disappointed when I tried to claim my 'flash of genius' name only to discover it was already taken. Good advice to claim names earlier ...especially if one is contemplating more than one webpage . I was also pleased that the cost is relatively low. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Ewa, starting out it is hard to see the end of the road if things pan out for us there is hopefully some longevity in our journey.
What I am saying is all about purchasing domain names
!, your own name, ................ewa (surname).com
starting out it may seem irrelevant but down the track who knows you may make your mark and create a brand around your name. I think that some members here are in the process of doing that now. so the future is an open book. put in place plans for contingencies moving forward.
2, domain names that you may use now or at some future point, so for example's sake I intend to enter into the fishing niche, so currently I am evaluating and purchasing domains that sit in that niche, I can use, hold or sell them.
I picked one up a,.com the other day and am still in disbelief that it was available, it will suit my purpose very well. if I had hesitated it would have been gone for sure.
So hence I am saying claim your name.

The only trouble is that there are only so many .com's to go around and once they have been claimed that's that. Unless you want to pay above the odds as I have found out.................... ouch and double ouch.
Good idea. After all, it's the price of two cups of coffee. Too late when it's gone. I'm off to get mine now.

Hi, Mickey that will add that level of professionalism to your business model. Just something to think about really, folks may not be thinking in terms of that, but if you have registered your own name there is value in it.
