An Interesting Conversation
You may have been marketing online for a short time or a long time, from time to time you come across folks from the real world that have that question
" What’s this online marketing all about. I mean to say I have been searching online are all these ways to make money legit or what".
The interesting conversation is when that question is posed how do you respond, folks are genuinely interested, a lot get caught up in the hype. Part of the disengagement is this belief that the internet lifestyle is so easy to obtain and or it is a scam. How do you explain and articulate what it is all about in a few sentences do you have a theme song for such occasions. Can we legitimize what we are doing and express it with conviction and passion.
There is a lot of interest out there for sure and I think one of the real draw cards is the possibility to create positive change, everyone seems to have elevated expectations across every demographic no matter where in the world we live and no matter what age bracket we fall into. We are so interconnected more so than we actually realize, I am amazed on a daily basis the whole internet deal is just so normalized and built into the fabric of our daily lives from the very young to the older generations.
Folks are drawn to this lifestyle you can not help it, it is promoted as the "new promised land ", many will show some interest and then spend the rest of the week being stalked, it is the law of attrition, at its best. You can actually see the process, unfolding. With a lack of knowledge and understanding it is easy to get lead up the garden path.
A friend contacted me regarding this wonderful opportunity, free to join, just an investment of $250 would secure your position and the income statements, well folks are making buckets of money within a very short time, fully automated day in day out, life changing stuff for very little work whats more. In fairness I had to burst his bubble, I would of been letting him down as a friend if I did not.
The bizarreness of it was that he actually ended up defending the system, one of those strange human conditions. The only folks making money out of that are the folks promoting the system because as my friend has found out his investment is not looking so good.
Many folks here would join in the chorus " so glad I landed here at Wealthy Affiliate ", and as witnessed this week the platform just keeps evolving as new innovations are added, it certainly makes our mission a whole lot easier for sure.
How do you handle that conversation, around the legitimacy or otherwise of the the systems and platforms that you are involved with online?
Would be so keen to get your feelings on the subject.

I've been vulnerable too many times emotionally and financially to other on line jobs. It still bothers me that I fell for that stuff. The best way to describe it is I was sucked in. I'm so grateful for WA. I'm getting an education, and a whole community of heart warming personalities that make me feel welcome and not like oh how can we rope her in more and take some more of her hard earned money. I'm still licking my wounds but WA is helping me to move forward and with help from my new community I know I will succeed on my terms, my way.

I always share my experiences with them. I looked at several options before i joined WA and they were definitely not ones I would recommend!

There are a lot of "systems" that only make money by on selling the very same system and while they may work for some people they are borderline scams or at best rely on spamming.
Personally, I only promote a few opportunities such as WA being one and I believe in what they offer, but you still come across sceptical people that think it's all a scam.
I usually reiterate that it takes hard work and time to make it a success and it's not "get rich quick".
Hi John thank you so much for your input, so true there are systems out there that just rely on to a degree selling the system to other folks, they, in turn, make money from on selling the system to others. I am really challenged by this approach it seems to prey on the unsuspecting, not a good look but one that keeps doing the rounds.
It is about deciding where our line in the sand is and promoting accordingly., totally agree with you there are folks that are skeptical, many for good reasons,
It is so true it is hard work and it takes dedication.

It is definitely a work in progress for many of us Alexandra, the online industry has so many factors to it and thinking about it, we are all going to be learning on an ongoing basis no matter where we stand. Thank you for sharing I think that you are not alone in your thoughts and experiences. One of the blessings of WA we have folks to share the journey with.
Excellent post. Honestly I struggle with explaining my online journey. Since I'm not very far along in the process l really don't talk to friends and family about it because I don't want to hear their judgments. This will change as I gain more of an online presence. Coming from someone who has been researching the internet and "business opportunities" out there for the last 8 months. the majority of what you come across is major bs and a way to put your money into someone elses pocket. The majority of these so called "money making schemes" are just that. It may take someone at least one form of getting scammed to be untrusting let alone have that little bit of faith that there are some people in the world that might be honest enough to tell the truth and they fall for it again. Some people give up, but most people are trying to find a better way to make some extra money to pay thier bills or stay home with thier children to raise them, or maybe to add to thier disability checks or thier retirement funding. They are all finding out that its all pretty much bs. These so called gurus making money hand over fist on auto pilot that dont have to do anything are obviously not telling the truth. I could shock you with some of the stuff that I have come across and tactics that are being used to make that almighty dollar. Its horrible. Actually, its sickening knowing that some of these hard working people have lost everything to these fraudulent people.
You asked, I answered. I think what everybody could use is some honesty and cold, hard facts about the work that goes into setting up an online business. I actually think the majority of these people dont mind the work.
So, the answer I think is one word. Honesty! Im hoping to be able to put together some helpful indormation for future online business success stories and things to avoid. I hope this gave you a few answers as to why new members when they find WA are relieved to find something they can trust. I understand it.

Hi, Donna some real passion in your response, and so true, many of us have been down that track where we have parted with some cash in the hope of creating a better future. many I suspect get burnt and give up the desire to explore the online world.
I think that you have hit the nail on the head, when folks arrive here at WA it is with a sense of relief, they can breathe some fresh air and start making some real headway.
A lot of the online world is quite spammy and scammy the thing with the knowledge we can learn to distinguish between the both. Thank you so much for your response, Donna.

Yes, Alexander, I also cleary see the difference having tried this and that.WA definitely stands out. Some folks are just so difficult to talk to, and some of them are our family and friends.:)
So True they can be our biggest critics at times but then our biggest supporters at other times.Hopefully, we find a path forward that we can successfully follow.
WA does stand head and shoulders above the rest, we are indeed fortunate to be here, and benefiting from everything that is WA.
