So What I Do Now? Is It Too Late For Me?

Hello My Dear Friends, Happy Monday To All

Is there a difference between liking and having a passion for your niche? Yes there is. When you have a passion for something, is because you can talk about it, you can dream about it and it is something you definitely can relate to it because of personal experience.

Viewing some posts last week and today, I feel that some people don't feel comfortable with their niche. I want you to see the image above and decide if your niche meet the basic five elements. The most important one, is your niche solving a practical need?

You can write your heart out on your niche but if it's not helping anybody, then why continue to do something that's not working for you. When you chose your domain name based on your passion about your niche, not everybody (me included) went thru the niche analysis.

If you're not sure today if you picked the right niche, then it may not be too late and all this effort may not be for nothing. Check these 5 elements and ask yourself if my content is helping my audience solve a need. You can figure that out by looking at your Google Analytics and checking what are people searching for.

Yes, I have noticed that people use the search box on your website to find what they're looking for. If they can't find it they're gone.

Also it is very important to check the elements above for a good and engaging website. Believe it or not people are picky about the colors, design, and probably everything else. The most important element here is your content and remember it must be relevant and must appeal to the emotions of your readers. Also remember that 85% or even higher access the internet via their mobile phone(Mobile friendly website).

Consider using real photos for your niche, instead of images. I'll need to use my phone more often for that purpose. Most of us carry our mobiles everywhere we go, so why not take advantage of it.

Do You See The Difference?

On a previous post I said, "Work with what you have right now". You can't change your domain if you wanted it to, you'll have to delete the website and start all over. Ask yourself this question, do you still feel the passion? If you do, move on but consider the 5 elements of a good niche and the 5 elements that makes a good website.

So now that you know the basics, where do you want to go? It's your choice, so make the best of your situation. Don't throw your efforts away, just go back to basics and start from where you are at this time. Think it over, check everything out and move on. Hope this helped you to make a decision for your journey.

Eugene, great post on the basic breakdown of what a niche should look like. Solving a practical need, the most basic of concepts and the answer to the problem. If you are not solving the basic needs of people, they have no reason to investigate your sight. Thank you for sharing.

You're welcome Annette

Hi Eugene, Your blogs are typically full of excellent advice and this is no exception. I fully agree, you need to be passionate about your niche. The Venn diagrams above are really helpful, this is brilliant advice for anybody looking to make WA a success. I have saved your blog and will be sharing it.

Have a great day.

Trevor

Thanks so much Trevor, it is the little things that make a difference.

Its good to see you are still very active on WA.

This is quite an excellent post!
Diversification of niches in a controllable fashion is also a way to keep things fresh, as well as pivot to more profitable sub-sectors within a niche.

It's a good way to transition without feeling like you have to throw the baby out with the bathwater.
For example: If you're into fitness niches but notice that you might have a better market for some kind of health supplements, might be easy to start a few blogs reviewing health supplements for fitness as good middle ground, before deciding to fully commit to either/or.

Thanks Arviell

Perfect Eugene.
Joe

Thanks Joe

Good afternoon Eugene,

Your post made me think. Does my website fulfill these criteria?
I write what I am passionate about. I want to spread news that I think is important and helpful. Often alternative and that does cause a problem as Google does not like it. This will not stop me for sure.
I jumped into this adventure having no clue. Instinctively, I chose the right colors for my websites.Often my sites overlap as health is related to the environment and vice versa.
These past years on receiving positive feedback made me realize there are people out there who like what I do. That is why I will continue till I drop dead.

Greetings from the south of Spain,

Taetske

Taetske, good for you. We are the owners of our websites and we need to decorate it so people feel at home. I used one time the "Get Feedback" resource and I received a critique for my website design, so I went ahead and changed it. Your audience comments matter, so we need to pay attention to that.
