Everyone has heard the saying "stay in your own lane" and it is good advice for many reasons. It can be tempting to try something new when you are bored or unfulfilled, but you need to ask yourself if that is the best choice for you. Should I stay in my own niche or not? There are advantages and disadvantages to staying in your own niche or not. If you stay in your own niche, you will have a good understanding of the industry and know what your customers want.

Yet if you stray away from it, there is a chance that someone might be able to do it better than you can and take some of your customers. The decision is ultimately yours to make so I encourage you to think about both scenarios before making a final decision! This is a question that many people ask themselves when they are starting their business. Should you stay in your own niche or branch out? There are pros and cons to each of these options, but it ultimately comes down to the type of person you are and what you want for your company.

Why I think it's important to keep your niche

How many times have you heard "stay in your own niche" and wondered what the heck that means? Well, it's not as vague as it sounds! There can be a lot of benefits to staying in your own niche. For example, if you are an expert on one topic, then you will know how to best serve those customers. But there is also another side to this coin: sometimes people do better when they branch out and offer more than just one kind of product or service. It really depends on the situation - so what should you do?

When it comes to blogging, there are two schools of thought. One is that you should stay in your own niche and the other says that you should blog about more than just one topic. What do you think? Many people are unsure about whether to stay in their own niche or branch out into other niches. This question is one that many ask themselves when they are starting a blog, and it's not an easy one to answer. The truth is, there really isn't any right answer; it all depends on your specific situation and what you want for your business.

What are the benefits of staying in your own niche?

This question is a tough one to answer. If you stay in your own niche, you will have a solid customer base that enjoys what they are getting from your business. You won't need to worry about trying to break into new markets if it's not the right time, and you'll be able to spend more time building up your expertise in this area. However, there are benefits of venturing out into other areas too. By doing so, you may find new customers who would like what you offer because they don't know where else to go or can't find anyone else with the same skill set like yours!

The question of whether to stay in your own niche or not is one that many people ask themselves. Some believe that staying in your own niche will give you more credibility, while others think the opposite. There are benefits and drawbacks to both arguments, which means it's important for you to choose what works best for you.

Hello Eugene,

It was uncanny that I had just published a blog on what is a niche before coming across your post here. Lots of food for thought.

I feel reassured that I have decided to keep moving forward with my niche. I can always develop a second niche after my first one pays me what I want.

All the best to you.

Edwin

Thanks Edwin

Great advice Eugene. There are pro's and cons for me to stay in my current niche, but the pros win by a mile. The two main factors that have convinced me to stay are 1). I know an awful lot about my niche. 2). There's heaps to write about. I could do 500 blogs and not run out.
The major con was the commission I can earn with Amazon. An average of about a dollar a sale is not enough. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find a better paying affiliate. Jim

Well, got to stick to what you know, Jim, hopefully it will improve.

I understand both sides of this case, Eugene - but I'm of the mindset of focusing on the niche that I enjoy writing about and making it work.

Appreciate the post!
Isaiah 😊

Thanks Isaiah and nice to see you again.

I like to maintain my niche and write a variety of topics pointing to that niche.
Thank you, Eugene.

You're welcome Muslimah

I love my niche and I'm sticking with it. Have a great weekend Eugene :-)

Thank you, Lisa, have a good weekend too.
