So, how would you like to have a mega-company like the New York Times (NYT) purchase your site for several million dollars? Brian Lam started his blog back in 2011 and NYT offered Brian more than 30 million to acquire the rights of Wirecutter.

Again, Backlinks do matter. I had a few arguments with people about this issue, but if they didn't matter, why Google would have them as a ranking factor. Wirecutter is now at 1.47 million links.

I don't mind finding requests for adding links to other sites in my email. I take a serious look at them though I don't accept all of them, for various reasons.
I have just replied to what looks like a very professional Amazon review site.
It may even belong to a WA member.

Thanks Eugene. I wrote a book, probably the most frustrating 20,000 words I ever wrote. Anyway it is done, and in the hands of a publisher. Hopefully I don't have to change anything.

That is a remarkable story. I never heard of the individual or the website, but that's an incredible story.
It's great motivation to keep working on our websites. Even with one idea or starting out a basic website- that can turn into something significant down the road.
