Dad, I blog for a Living.

I'll soon be telling this to my Dad. His first question will be, "What is a blog"? His follow up question will be, "And how will you make money from it"? The other question will be, "So why did you waste 4 years in College"?

All these are valid questions, questions I asked myself when I thought about starting the affiliate marketing sweetness. I still don't know the answer to the "follow up" question and the "other question". But I'm hoping by the time I finish the 3rd course it will all make sense to me.

So, my journey here at wealthy affiliate has been amazingly crazy. I've had days of "Dang, this is happening, I'm going to make it", to days of, "Wait, what I'm I doing with my life right now". But overall I've challenged my brain cells a whole lot. I wouldn't say I'm a writer, and Kyle sold me when he said that I didn't have to be a one to become an affiliate Marketer!!

I've learnt so much! And I would say my website is 60% done, maybe 80%, okay, lets go for 70%. I can't wait to understand what Google indexing is all about, and all those other awesome words!!

I would say my greatest challenge has been navigating through the WordPress site and understanding Categories, Tags, what type of widgets I need..that consumed both my energy and time but I'm thankful that I've got it all figured out now!

My next step will be to keep getting content & Images for my site and make it catchy.

Lets see, my goals are, to at least make $3,000 a month. If that happens I'll go for a Holiday in Hawaii!! Yeah right, I'll settle for a holiday in Texas :-)

Above all, I'm excited to see what the future holds for my Website and I. And I'm glad to have a community that is really helpful and walks together with me through everything!

Good perspective on all this. I keep reminding myself how much fun I'm having when I realize how much I still have to learn. It's hard when you want to know things faster than your capable of learning them!

I just have to exercise my patience and stay consistent! One day we'll look back and think, It was worth it!

You will cross many of these bridges when you get there, announce that you are going to be successful online, but announce that you are a full time blogger when you are.

I had many of these same conversations with my parents when I started out (and I was actually living at home). I went to school, was it in vain? No. I still learned lots and met some people that were instrumental in WA (Carson, etc).

Your website is NEVER done, so just always say it is 50% done. It will never be more done than that as there are always going to be a ton of things that you can do to improve your site, but also to scale and grow your business.

Wealthy Affiliate, for example, is only 50% done. :)

I really do look forward to seeing your progress as you do move forward Esther, you have a bright future ahead of you if you stick with it!

Oh I am sticking with it!! Thank you for the feedback, appreciate!!
