Where Has The Time Gone?

I guess you could say that this is my official start at WA even though I've been a member for exactly 14 days. The day you start chronicle your events is the day it starts to get real!

I've had many great days so far as well as some very frustrating and overwhelming ones.

My first few days were met with such energy and well wishes from veteran and beginners alike. Offering their best wishes, advice, and strategies, I could utilize in working toward my goals.

Pay It Forward

The first time I heard this idea of receiving a gift and out of kindness, bestowing that gift on another was from a movie of the same name staring Kevin Spacey and Haley Joel Osment.

It wasn't until now that I thought about the concept and the impact that application can have with a business model such as this.

I recall one of those frustrating days when I really thought I had made progress on my website and it was really starting to take shape.

I received some helpful and a few well-meaning critiques on my website and critical pieces that were to be added going forward.

That spelled disaster!. After having committed many hours to the construction to the site, I crashed and burned in one fell swoop.

I needed to step away and take a breather and clear my head so I could have "fresh eyes" and a new perspective when I returned.

My Savior

I fell asleep and uneasy thinking about how I was going to remedy the befalling of my website. I needed to get some rest and soon realized I could do nothing at the moment and the problem would still exist in the morning.

I woke the next morning to an email from my coach. He replied to my earlier and frantic email regarding my website and responded with a calming anecdotal as to how we will fix the situation.

We set up a Zoom call that night and I was eager to jump into working with him and coming to a resolution. It was unbelievably refreshing to have someone so quickly respond to your needs and not be focused on a "What's in it for me" mindset.

We met for a little over an hour that night and you would think that by the heading there is good news. There is, but it wasn't to come that night.

We ran into a glitch as to the functionality of my present theme I was using on Word Press and he assured me that he would get me an answer to my situation in the next coming days.

Don't Let Your Mind Push You Around

In college, I remember a quote that read "The mind is a wonderful servant but a terrible master."

My coach didn't solve my website issue, but I gained a tremendous amount of clarity that night and couldn't wait to go to sleep so I could be back "at it" again in the morning.

Even though my issue wasn't solved, I received a true gift that doesn't come around these days that often. My coach had my back and he would fight this fight alongside me. I was energized and couldn't contain my enthusiasm to work on solving my dilemma.

I started working right away on my website and by "hook and crook," I was able to come to a place of satisfaction with my website.

I overcame. I am happy to say that my website, still a work in progress, is coming along. I've finished level two of my training and am 7 posts in.

I could also say that I've also started my true journey here at VA by creating my very first blog. Yo are reading it now. I am on my way.

There will come a day when I will get my call to Pay It Forward. Will you be on the receiving end of that payment plan—Who knows?
