So I've had my site set up for a while and I have a bunch of articles already posted. Google has my site fully indexed and I get a decent amount of impressions.

Hi. Your site is still fairly new, only a few weeks old. Usually you want to have some good quality content on your site before signing up with affiliates. I'm confused as to how you already got an Amazon Affiliates account, but they are one of the easier ones to get connected with.

The thing is, if you are not getting sufficient traffic to your website, your affiliate links will do you no good. It is going to take traffic to get clicks on your links that could possibly make you a sale.

Have you checked your Google Analytics account? This will tell you how much traffic you are getting. Since you already have an Amazon Affiliates account, I guess it can't hurt to put some links on, but I wouldn't put many on.

You are still trying to gain the trust of your visitors and if all they see is a lot of affiliate links, they will click out of your website. :)

Yeah Amazon instantly approved me, all I supplied to them in my 'application' was my domain name and what I'd be doing on the site.

The only reason I haven't added links as of yet was because I've read some conflicting content online saying when Google crawls your sites and sees these links they may rank you lower than if you never had them there.

If you start out with very few links and keep writing lots of quality content, you should be fine with Google. I'd only put one affiliate link in a post here and there for now.
