AdWords?

Last Update: January 18, 2018

So, yesterday I received an email offering me $150 credit to try out AdWords for one of my websites. Of course, I have to spend $150 in order to get the credit. Has anyone used AdWords and is this offer something I should give some consideration to? Your opinions and experiences with AdWords will help me make an informed decision, and the thoughts from our community here at WA matter to me, so, if so inclined, please give a bit of direction. Much appreciated, and as usual, the best advice comes from you guys and ladies in this great community!

I use, have used Google Adwords and other PPC advertising (Facebook, Bing etc) for some years, BUT this has been for my offline business's and targeted to a very precise audience and location. It works for me but took some time to get right and get a decent ROI. I would be wary of using PPC for an online promotion unless I could again get precise customer and geo targeting. $150 is very easy to rack up in PPC.

You need to know what you are doing when you go into the Pay Per Click and Pay Per View business. It can certainly work and Kyle and others have success with it, but it is something not so easy for the beginners.

I also got the offer and created an account, but then figured I would get a lot of low quality clicks if I didn't watch out and immediately stopped the campaign until further notice. For example, if you don't restrict the countries that you advertise towards, you will get a lot of bots from China clicking on your ad without any return on investment or sales on your page.

Adwords can be a great platform or getting targeted traffic to your site. Over the years, it has gotten a lot more expensive, but this will vary from niche to niche.

The great part about PPC is that you can choose the EXACT keywords that you want to target with your campaigns, drive them to the most relevant page, and present that audience with a relevant offer or pitch.

Awesome, thank you Kyle! The AdWords offer was for my music CD site, do you think it is worth it for this niche?

It can be a great tool if you have a large budget to spend and there's no guarantee on ROI and before you know it you've run up a bill with Google
