My dear old grandmother loved making gifts for all of us grandchildren. She was never a TV person, so whenever she had some free time she would sit on her rocking chair and knit whatever her heart desired. My grandma would also sell some of her handmade creations when our local church would host a yard sale, and let me tell you, my grandmother would clean up her competitors.

Nowadays my friends, craftsman and boutique artists have a very easy way to sell their handmade creations. Without going to the local market or setting up a brick-and mortar storefront. Through etsy.com, as you all know, many artists have made a living by selling their art directly over the internet.

If you have not heard of the website Etsy, it is time to listen up. Last year, over 22 million buyers from around the globe spend $2.3 billion on Etsy's handmade creations products, which are supplied by people like you and me. As a seller, the many benefits are awesome. Etsy provides support by email or over the phone for shop owners, Etsy also has a plethora of articles detailing how to make your business become as successful as possible.

If you have the time, check out the Etsy handbook, it has hundreds of articles ranging from legal selling advice to growth strategies, which are very interesting, and ever ways to improve your productivity. Here is the link, https.//www.etsy.com/seller-handbook?=us_sell

In order to sell your handmade creations, they must be classified as one of the three categories. Craft supplies, handmade good, vintage items (must be over 20 years old). Once you know what you are going to sell, setting up shop is really easy. All you do is simply fill out the forms detailing your currency and language, and then give your shop a name. Then add the handmade creations you wish to sell and of course set up how you are going to be paid.

When you list an item, you will pay a 20-cent listing fee. Then when one of your handmade creations is sold, you will pay a 3.5% transaction fee and a payment processing fee of 3% plus 25 cents. The money that you earn, then appears in your shop payment account. Every Monday, the funds are deposited into your bank account.

I'am told, some shop owners have brought in a whopping million dollars in revenue. Many of the sellers have become so successful that Etsy has become their main source of income. My grandma would have loved this, that rocking chair of hers would had put indents in the floor. So my WA Conrad's, as you are making the big money from your website, you can always have a side hustle, if you have some handmade creations.

I've talked to several people who were making money using Etsy. One of them, in fact, was making an unbelievable percentage of profit on some of her "customized" clothing she was selling on their site. It's a great place to go to sell crafts of all kinds, and a good way to get paid for your creativity. That's what I hear, anyway. I have not personally done it.
Thanks for providing the link you included in your post.

Etsy is a great platform. I have several friends who sell their creations on there. Once it could have been helpful to me, but no longer doing handmade creations.

It's a great idea!
The handmade work is always more valuable because we have so easily machine-made objects that it is always nice to pay more for a more authentic object.

Thanks Earl, this is right up my alley. I craft precious and semi precious gemstone.
I was hesitant a while back to promote on Etsy because they had dodgy products on their website, for example, South Sea Pearl necklaces for $7.99 etc, BUT hopefully they have sorted out the cowboys so the honest sellers can compete.
I may give them a go.....

Small things can be big at this time of cutting edge technology. Someone, somewhere around the world would appreciate your hand made work of art and indeed could become a good source of extra income. So for those who know something they could creatively make on their hands and turn them into a valuable little thing called masterpieces, you may be the person who could be the next millionaire.

Thanks for the useful info.
