When you jump into a training platform as robust as Wealthy Affiliate, it's important to do everything you can to maximize your success.

Creating your free starter account is the first step, and that gets you in the door. So now what?

Jump into the Training Lessons and Start Building

The whole point of the free starter account is to take a look at the training and see if it's for you. So jump in and get going! Each lesson in Course 1 walks you step by step through a foundational step of building your own affiliate marketing business.

Watch each video tutorial, complete each task asked of you, and participate in each forum Kyle directs you to. Don't skip steps that you think are tedious. That's the equivalent of building the frame of a house and deciding to only use 1 nail when 2 are needed so you can hurry up and get going.

Your business is only as strong as the foundation and without a strong foundation you'll quickly get nowhere. Don't short change yourself here.

Don't Get Ahead of Yourself

It's human nature to jump in and want results. This is normal, but is it practical? Not really. Just like you wouldn't expect to be profiting from a rent house you're building when only the foundation is laid, it's important to realize that you have to be patient.

It's easy to jump into chat and see people talking about great plugins they're using, email lists auto responders, Adsense, affiliate programs, etc., and start looking for ways to implement those things.

Guess what, you're not there yet! None of those things will work if you skip ahead to them. So while you can take mental notes of all the awesome things you're eventually going to learn how to implement, jump back into the course lessons and work your way through them, one at a time.

Don't Worry About Analytics or Commissions

When you're starting off, take 100% of the pressure off yourself and simply work through the course lessons without worrying about analytics or commissions.

The fact is, when we do everything asked of us and we're doing great keyword research and creating quality content to the best of our ability that consistently answers the topic at hand and provides a great user experience, all the other things fall into place.

And guess what? That's exactly what this training teaches you. As you work through it, you'll get better and better at it.

Throw yourself 100% into training mode. Be a sponge that absorbs.

Be a Student

When you take the pressure off and simply be a student to the process, this training will truly take hold and set you up for success. As someone who started this journey as a complete newbie, trust me when I say the training delivers.

Be patient, be focused, and be prepared to work.

Do those things and you'll find yourself as a success story here with Wealthy Affiliate.

Thanks, Eric! I was trying too hard too fast, I will slow down and follow the training and not get angry at myself for missing one day, due to too much work (on the outside world).

It's all about patience and trusting the system :) Thanks, Lucy!

Thanks for sharing.

Glad you enjoyed this, Big Rog!

Okay Eric, you got me:) I will try to slow down. I guess Marines have an issue with not seeing results. I blended in pretty well, as that is my personality.

I work at this approximately 14 hours a day. I will try to take your advice:)

Thanks

Great advice Eric. I think this might be the single most common reason there aren't more success stories here at WA. "Take the pressure off and simply be a student to the process" really says it all.

Nice Eric. Thank you!

Great advice and the point I like most is "When you're starting off, take 100% of the pressure off yourself and simply work through the course lessons without worrying about analytics or commissions."

'Don't put the cart before the horse' as per the well known idiom. :)

~Mark :)

Thank you. Revision is a must as you pick up things you missed and forgot.
Tom.
