Content and Consistency is King!

I can't wait until I have 100, 200, 300 posts on my website! Those seem like lofty and far off goals, but when you continue to put out consistent quality content out there, Google eventually starts to take notice.

When you make it your goal to write 2-3 posts per week, before you know it, you look back and you have this thriving website full of info. You have people finding your posts daily, taking a look at what you've built. And with consistent traffic comes the potential for consistent revenue!

Most people write a few posts, maybe 10 or even 20, and then look back at what is truly a young and growing site and think "Where's my traffic?". The fact is, it simply takes time to grow. You have to consistently keep putting out quality content and that traffic will come. The best part is, those old posts don't get lost in the abyss of the internet. People who end up finding your site will check out what else you have and those old posts you long forgot about may be exactly what your reader needs to see at that moment.

Think of posts as franchises. The more franchises you have, the better opportunity you have for more traffic and revenue.

I really found that when I started really focusing on my writing schedule, I started having the results I wanted. So put your head down and start writing quality content. Do your very best to optimize the posts to the best of your ability for on-page SEO. Do your very best with off-page SEO sharing it to your social media networks and getting it out there. Schedule future shares if you can to bring continued life to those posts and keep creating :)

Content and consistency is king. Make that your focus, and you'll see your rewards :)

Thanks for sharing this Eric and congrats on the recent success!

With me I post alot but sometimes I can be less consistent. I stick to at least a post a day but most days I can get 2 at least done.

However I always get the occasional 4-7 day period where I lose faith and don't post. But after that period I always push myself to get back into it.

How many posts do you write a week/day?

I always just followed what Kyle said and published 2-3 per week. :) i don’t know how in the world you can do 1 and sometimes 2 a day. Lol

Such a good reminder for me Eric. I have been so consistent for the past 5 or so months, got sick last week and it really threw a spanner in the works and now I am all over the place!

But thanks for this timely reminder that I do know myself anyway, but always good to hear it from some one else!

And you are right, a schedule is key, keeps you accountable and like you said, before you know it you look at your site and it is thriving. Awesome share Eric, thanks again!

You said it, Sharon! Thanks for all your support!

This point gets stated so very often here at WA ... by folks who have been there, done that. I think there is a lot to be said for the consistency side of the equation.

Even if you don't have the time to do 3 posts a week, drop back and do two ... consistently. I try to build an inventory of posts as a safeguard for maintaining the posting frequency I have established. This achieves "posting consistency", which maximizes the Google Love I get for the volume of writing I am maintaining.

Taking from my Mfg days, I treat this inventory of posts as "safety stock", helping me avoid the dreaded "stock out" that shuts down the manufacturing line. In this case, of course, the manufacturing line is my consistent posting schedule.

Looks like you created some awesome habits you have brought to the online world. Good stuff and I think I will get ahead too!

Great points and great insight! :) Thanks for the comment!

Hi Eric
I cannot agree more, 36 posts and 14 pages in 4 months,

I feel that I am still not doing enough, so when I reach the end of official training here at WA I will increase my efforts as more time will be at hand.

Great post, thanks for sharing

Gary

You've got a great schedule you're keeping up with. Keep it up. The most I can do is 2-3 per week. That's just my absolute max I can do lol. I put together a video as well for each post so that adds to the time it takes. Great insight and thanks for chiming in.

Great info Eric. I am currently stuggle to get my next post written.
After I need to do a review on the product. I cant wait until I have more post. 300??? I better not look that far ahead right now. That seems unreachable at the moment. :0]
I need more hours in the day, lol!
Your post makes sense though. Thanks!

Mark

Don't worry. 300 is wayyyyyyy out there for most everyone lol. Shoot for 50, then 100, then 150... Just think about how much of an authority site yours would be with 300 posts of quality content! You can get there!

This is so true Eric. I've had so much going on lately, working, school shopping and now getting ready to register both boys. Next week dentist appointments. I mow about 3 acres and it's that time of year it's every week.
However, I have been writing and I am looking forward to doing my 1st blog hopefully over the weekend. I need a break from this heat!

You and me both! Great attitude. Stick with it!

I bow to that King! I am a loyal servant to that King and will never disobey him! The King is dead. Long live the King! :)

100% bang on the money my man! I am well on my way to 200 posts and when I get there I will be looking ahead to 300!

You're a MACHINE Craig! Thanks for chiming in!

I have it scheduled to try and write 2 blogs a day for a minimum of three days a week. I am hoping by scheduling and writing I will get better. Right now I am trying to acquire the skills and hone in on them as I go. Thank you for the great post.
Valerie

Wow! 6 per week is huge. I don't think I could ever quite get there lol. The great part is that even if you just get half that, you're doing good consistent work :) Thanks for the comment!

I'm over 200 posts on my site and working towards 300. You are right consistency is the king and to be honest, that really has been my biggest struggle here at Wealthy Affiliate. I'll have spurts where I work really hard for a few months and then back off quite a bit, but not coming to a stop completely, then I'll get serious again and work hard for a little while and back off a bit. I need to STAY in a consistent pattern where I always work hard and then I will truly see the big successes I've been wanting to see.

Wow. that's a great work ethic! Thanks for the inspiration!

thanks! I made it a goal to write one blog post a day. BTW, do you know what the difference is meaning page vs post for google finding it? I know logistically what it's for, but is it better to post content then put it under a page? Or does it even matter.

Hi! I think that the page vs post dilemma shouldn't borther you. Your site has to have several pages that explain your niche, your decision to deal with it and similar. Than, you should concentrate on posts. Focus on writing, contents, good Keywords - and that's it!

Keep up the good work! You can think of pages like sticky posts. They're there to welcome your reader and explain a little about you and your site. Past that, everything would be posts you create for the most part :)

Thanks for the comment!

great explanation thanks!

no prob :)

From what I understand Vandana, is that a page is static, but posts you can ad on a regular basis and can be under a page.

thanks!
