Our mindset!

What is it that stops many of us, to have great year, year after year after year?
Why are some of us more successful than others?
What is it that holds us back?

The main corporates are:

1) Cynicism

2) Self-doubt

3) Blame

4) Procrastination

5) Fear

Cynicism

I found a great video on cynicism.
I couldn't have put it better myself enjoy Patton Oswalt

Self-doubt

Enjoy the power of self-doubt.

Blame

If you realise that when you point the finger at somebody else,
you point three at yourself.

This is't so much about guns, but Samuel L Jackson is one of my favorite actors, he is a man of authority.
And I do support what he talking about.

Procrastination

This video speaks for itself.

Everyone has internal and external constraints,
but if you realise that the internal constraints are 80%
and the external constraints are 20%.

The biggest dream killer is internal, what is happening in your mind,
because that influences your emotions, which determines your actions!

The path to success.

Practice a few mental and behavioral disciplines every day!

The most important thing to recognise is that your level of success in any area of your life is tied together with your self concept of what is possible for you in that area of life!

What matters most is how you see yourself your self-concept.
Change your self-concept and your results change!

Your self-concept determines your:

  1. Your level of self-belief
  2. Your level of self-esteem
  3. What actions you take (or don't)
  4. How to interpet "failures" and mistakes

Your Inner Voice.

Everybody has got an inner voice, actually we have got three.
Negative Nigel
Wilber Witness
Positive Percy
We all know the negative and positive one, but few of us realise that they also have Wilber.
Wilber is the one that when you do something and you are amazed of what you have done.
Wilber will witness it and this is how you learn.

Understanding your mental process is the first step to change!
Ask yourself the following question:

  1. How many "could have", "would have", "should have" statements have you made today?
  2. How many "if only's" were part of your inner vocabulary today?
  3. How many times have you replayed a conversation or situation in your head that pained you, or one that hasn't occurred yet?
  4. How many scenarios have you created of the unpredictable future?
  5. How honest are you with yourself?
  6. Are you at cross-purposes with yourself? Going through the motions,
but not really commited to the goal, saying one thing but meaning another?
  7. Do you ever make comments like "nothing ever goes right for me";
"everything I touch fails";"I always mess up"?
And the last note......

You can do it!

I was going to put that in my first blog. Then I erased the whole blog I'm new to the blog thing. But some day I will soon start. Eric thank you much for the come back.

Very inspiration, I'm guilty as charged I have done most of those points made. The last I really have a connection with. I came across an opportunity years ago where you would have to meet with people in the world trade business. They had two offices for me to meet locally or in New York. It brings the hairs up on the back on my neck. Well you been a great help now I'm better focused at what's at hand and needs to be done. Great job keep in touch always. Carl

Carl, glad I could help and make a difference. It all comes down to making the decision every day, that you are going to do this. I set myself a goal for each day that I want to achieve. Small steps work best at the start, when you get comfortable, increase your goal for the day. That way your will notice you get things done and will get results. Eric

Great post Eric. I like Patton Oswalt. The rest of the videos are very interesting. I think we all fall into these categories every now and then. As the old saying goes, "Old Habits Are Hard To Break".
Best wishes,
Dave

Dave, you are absolutely right there, all of us do! I got the information from a sales training that I follow for my other business and thought that it was helpfull to share with others so they can benefit from it as well. Thanks for your comment I appreciate it, Eric.

Thanks for sharing, Eric. Very helpful and encouraging post and videos! I know I've been guilty of a few of these at times, lol. Especially the procrastination, which is something I still struggle with a lot. I end up doing everything but what I set out to do some days, which the video you shared reminded me of well, me.
But it seems I'm a little better at realizing that I'm doing my usual procrastinating in time more often now and get back to work on my website or whatever I was supposed to be doing before the whole day is gone.

Thanks for the comment Sherry, I think we all have those problems. The trick is to realise that you are doinging it before you get to comfortable doing all the time and it becomes a habit. Which are much harder to change. By the way I like your website about dogs. Very well done. Eric.

Don't feel bad you sound just like me... Thanks for sharing it here! now I don't feel as bad, as bad I say I need to do something today.
