Let's Be Fair to Everyone
Within the Need Website Comments? section, I have seen at least two people complain about other fellow members not returning favors. I think this defeats the purpose of that thread and is highly inconsiderate.
If we're taking the time to comment on others' posts, the fair and right thing to do is comment back. Not just one line. We can tell when someone didn't read our posts. There are a lot of generic comments all over the place. I think we could do better than that.
Fortunately, most people return favors, but there are a few who don't. I'm not going to say any names, but you know who you are. I have a blacklist of people I won't be wasting my time with anymore.
If someone leaves you a well-thought comment, please have the decency to comment back.

That's another good point. There are people who leave feedback instead of comments. On the other hand, there are people who never get back to you. 😐
Yes, it happens. I don’t have any expectations if anyone would reciprocate my efforts. Enough do and I am appreciate. Would be great if we get more engagement.
It's a shame because as a community we're all here to help each other. It is what it is.
I hope I am leaving relevant and helpful comments and if I am not I will accept it and try to improve on it. I will start paying more attention to my comments now reading this. I just started out last week so trying to follow everything and communicate in the correct manner is very new to me. I hope that my comment here will not be seen as the wrong thing to do. Was a very well said blog and needed to be put out there if these issues are happening don't want it to happen to anyone.

Your comment is much appreciated. We're all here to learn and help each other. That thread was originally meant to generate traffic towards our sites, but unfortunately there are some people who don't reciprocate. That totally defeats its purpose.

it’s the same when you join in a thread, if someone has given me time and given a quality comment of some depth having read a post or responded to something I am saying, I will usually respond in a like minded manner. I have noticed many do the same and reading the whole threads of interesting posts and joining in the discussion is part of learning.
I have noticed one or two others write a blog post and when they receive good interaction and a great interesting comment, will then give two or three word response. 😳
I get that not everyone has time for long replies or great analogies but sometimes stopping and pausing, being part of the community and, as Kyle says, paying it forward is what WA is about.

Right on, Cordelia. I think we're all here to learn together and help each other when needed. I understand we don't know everything and sometimes we'll have to look for answers somewhere else ourselves.
Like you said, if we're taking the time to comment on others' posts and leave quality comments, we're expecting the same thing in return. Give and receive. It's a two-way street.
I guess we all think differently. 🙁
