Kindness Goes a Long Way

Earlier this week I asked the community whether I should change niches or not. Several people shared their thoughts with me and I'm still pondering what I should do. We're all going through hard times right now and we have to make decisions. That's life after all.

A particular comment drew my attention. I replied to it and shortly afterward I received a caustic reply from the same person. What I didn't like was the fact that this person implied she knew more than I did because she'd been in marketing for I don't remember how many years and that I should do as she said.

Now, one thing I've learned over the years is being careful with my words and actions when I'm angry. I thought of a thousand things I could say to this lady but refrained from doing so. Instead, I focused on working on my site but I decided I would share it with you.

I have so many things to learn and most members here have been really helpful. I know my limitations and I also know there are members with much more experience than some of us. Many of us are still learning the ropes of affiliate marketing. But we also have to understand that ten or twenty years of experience don't entitle us to belittle our fellow members.

We may or may not always agree with our fellow members, but above everything, we have to be respectful. Think carefully before you speak (or write) and don't forget where you started. We all started somewhere.

Thanks for reading.

Enrique

Totally agree with this. There is a saying that we should never despise the days of small beginnings. I was always told as a young adult to never forget where I came from. We sometimes only see a part of someone's life here and may not understand other things that could be going on that they don't (and shouldn't) share in this setting. Be helpful and kind. We are here to lift each other up and encourage them. I know I need a lot of that and appreciate it very much. Keep up the good work. I'm sure you will know what direction you are supposed to go in soon.

Hi, Tina,

You're right. We come from all walks of life. Our fellow members may be going through tough times in their personal lives and a simple, sarcastic comment can demoralize them even more. Words are powerful for both good and bad.

Thanks for commenting.

100% agree with you Enrique. We need to motivate & help our colleagues here at WA. I havent experienced that. But I have stopped following 1 person who moaned & complained a lot in their blogs.

Critical FRIEND feedback fine...ideally via a pm.

Encouragement yes.

Motivation yes.

But the sort of comment you describe.

Ignore. Unfollow & focus on your priorities within WA.

What I have seen from you. I like a lot.

He who says it cant be done, dont stop the person doing it.

Yes You Can. Si se puede.

Have a great day my friend & keep safe.

Trevor

Hi, Trevor,

I sincerely appreciate your comment.

We're here to help and motivate each other. Our niches might be different but we're all in the same boat after all.

Feedback is definitely important, but we have to be tactful. The way we express our ideas can make a difference. There's no need to be rude or sarcastic. Those attitudes don't belong here.

I agree sir. sometimes we consider Seniority so we respect them I'm a new also at WA as Premium member almost 13 days concentrate on your goal sir. that's part of a challenge to achieve success I know in every group there's an Imperfection.

We absorb very well the training sir. if we are now a superior at WA we don't treat the new member just like what you experience god bless make your dream as your Inspiration.

Always a pleasure my friend 🧐

Thank you sir. god bless

Welcome Resty 🧐

Likewise sir.

Hi, Resty,

First of all, welcome to WA. Feel free to PM me if you need help, and I'll do my best to help.

We can learn a lot from experienced members. Many of them have given me a hand when needed and I appreciate that.

I totally agree. I have taken 2 people to task on this very issue. Elevating yourself at someone else's expense is never ok. They say things like. "Well obviously" or "you not going to like what I am saying" and then vomit negatives all over you. The 2 spoke to where in Top 200 Ambassadors. That's a pity I have to admit..Good for you for speaking out. Jen

Hi, Jen,

That's a pity. I want to believe they either had a bad day or simply didn't mean what they said. We have to be tactful when giving our opinion.

Hello Enrique,
Sorry to hear you had this happen.
We are all at different levels here in the WA network, some are just starting out while others have years of experience.
That does not excuse someone being rude or disrespectful.
We are all here to help each other.
All the best and keep making progress.
Darren :)

Fully agree Darren Nichola.

Hi, Darren,

Yes, we are all at different levels but we share the same goal. We're in the same boat and should help and support each other.

Our words can make a difference.
