it sounds like a theme thing.
if you choose a theme like generatepress or astra you can switch on and off sidebars on each article so reducing the distraction for your visitors on the important pages.

Different themes have different number of widgets. If the theme you are currently installed does not meet your requirement for the widgets, try to change to other themes. Another way of doing it is by installing plugin that create extra widgets in the sidebar.
Appearance > Widget > there should have a few widgets to choose from.
