Hello everyone,

Should you only blog about your niche, or is it ok to blog about other things of interest on your niche blog site.

Example niche about craft recomm

Yes, you write about your niche and everything related to your niche. I t doesn't need to be a textbook. You can compare that great coffee shop with other ones that are not doing well. You can as well write about their product and environment. Just do a proper keyword research you will get many good keywords to write abou.

In my opinion you can write about the philosophy or spirit behind the service and examples of the great service of the coffee shop related with your craft website service.

I regularly blog about items/topics not in my niche.

I feel that it's ok.

Does the coffee shop pay you in recommending it? It must be your own coffee shop. And I would support you write anything about it.

Just my 2 cents. Maybe you can add a paragraph or two about the great coffee shop you appreciate on your "About Me" page and how you love coffee and/or coffee shops and/or great customer service that truly fulfills the words "Have A Nice Day." :-)

I've done it on my travel site. On some of my articles, I mention other activities I've done after the horseback riding trip.

Absolutely on your website. WA blogging should encompass all subjects that can drive the community!

Fabulous response!

Hi Sharon,
I think you should blog about your niche, but that's not to say you shouldn't address things that surprise you about your niche. Things that at first glance don't seem related but in fact are.

For example, I have long covered back and foot pain solutions. Recently, however, I was intrigued by people who are born with an insensitivity to pain. Is not that they are indifferent to pain, it's that they can't feel pain.
This may seem idyllic but it's really hell. Someone with insensitivity to pain won't feel his bone break but will have to live with the results--usually that means ending up in a wheelchair.

You see, Sharon, pain is a way for the body to warn us that something is wrong and stop any action that will harm us more--like making us pull away from that boiling liquid that's just too close to us.

So all though my niche involves the management of pain, I was take a bit back when I contemplated what life is like for those who don't have the ability to feel pain.

In short, I think it's fine to pursue things that may seem unrelated to your niche but really are the other questions about your niche that haven't been asked.

I would say that primarily you should blog about your niche but blogging about yourself and what you're doing in your life now and again also reveals more about you as a person and builds trust with your audience. I'm not sure whether there's a definite right or wrong here. I'd be interested to read what others think too.

Hey Sharon,

Is your website hosted here at WA?
I checked your profile to go and visit your website, but you have not completed that portion of your profile. Without actually seeing what you are describing, I'm not sure any one can help you.

Does your theme offer a ad a the top? If so, then check Appearance > Customize to see if you can find it from there.

Here too is a post offering different things for you to try: https://premium.wpmudev.org/blog/add-remove-from-wordpress/

BEFORE you begin, PLEASE backup your website FIRST.

go to your dash board and edit your post then remove

Do you have a screenshot of the page with the pesky ad? Was it the result of code you added to your "header.php" template?

I haven't had any ads yet either
Sorry Sharon

I haven't had any ads. Maybe contacting site support will be helpful. Good luck

I have just been reading some questions and answers about product reviews and I was wondering if people only review products they have tried.

Can you write product review

If possible. Sometimes if the cost is too much, conduct a lot of research.

Thank you for replying John. I thought exactly the same thing in regard to the cost.

Research, I thought was the key.

If at all possible, I use the product. In most cases, this means reading a digital book or viewing a video. In many cases, I have to contact the author and work on getting a review copy and many of those times it actually works.

Thank you, Mickey. The question came about because I thought about doing a review on an affiliate program but it was $1995. I thought the cost was too much just to do a review.
But it started me thinking about reviews in general and I have received some great suggestions.

I have opted for a business model in which I will only write reviews about products that I have used on a regular basis. In the long run, that is what is going to build your credibility.

Thank you, Sondra.

Hi Sharon,
I personally only review products I have used in the past or present. It just seems false to me to review something you really don't have any idea whether it works or not.
Just my opinion,
Kathi

Thank you for your opinion, Kathi. The question came from me wanting to do a review of another affiliate program which is $1995 and the cost was too much for me, just to do a review.

I wondered then about doing a review just by using extensive research.

If the research is through enough, you can offer an opinion. But, I think I would make it clear it is only an opinion. It will help to build trust to be open and honest with your audience.

yes, that's true. Thank you. Something I always say is "In my opinion".

Your welcome.:)

ii is possible

Research seems to be the key. The question came from wanting to do a review of an affiliate program that is $1995.

The cost of buying the program to do a review was a bit much.
So I wondered what everyone else thought.

Thanks for your reply.

It is recommended, but not always possible.

True. cost is the biggest obstacle. I looked at reviewing a different affiliate program to WA but it was $1995 and that's where the question originated.

Thank you for the reply.

WOW, that much?

For me personally, I do customer reviews on products that I physically have. I want people to see my excitement of using the actual product and why I have it.

Great, thank you. I do as well on products and services I use. The question came about after looking at an affiliate program that was $1995, that I thought about doing a review on but couldn't afford to buy.

I can definitely understand that and I had run into a similar situation with my 2nd website which pretty much stopped me in my tracks. I want to review these other make money programs, but I can't afford to buy a lot of them and I think it's unfair of me to give a proper review if I personally haven't tried out the product.

I think changing the review, being upfront about what you are and are not reviewing and why is important, as well as full disclosure. Plus research, research, research.

Emergent,

Personally it all depends on the customer reviews. If it's a great product etc., than I see no reason why you cannot, but if the reviews are crap, think twice, triple thrice.

Just do the research, write an an amazing review, tell them how the Air Roaster will help them, how it will make their lives better, how you can help them and your good.

I believe that it can be done, yes!

Becky

Becky has a good point.

One of these days, I might do a "review" type post of a drone or high end camera that I've been researching and that Im saving the money for the purchase.

In that case, I would be sharing my research of other reviews in one convient place but I would make it clear that I haven't purchased it yet.

Great idea and I agree Becky made a good point as well. The question actually came about after seeing an affiliate program that was $1995 and I wondered about doing reviews on products, I couldn't afford to buy.

Great idea Becky. The question came to me after looking at another affiliate program I thought about reviewing but it was $1995.

Too much money to purchase something just to review. I really like your suggestion of researching and information.

Thank you, Becky.

Hey Sharon,

Personally, I won't review a product that I haven't purchased and used. It only takes one phony review to hurt a person's reputation.

Thank you. The question came about after looking at other affiliate programs.

I have used the few products that I have reviewed but I don't think it's absolutely necessary

Thank you for the reply. The question came about after looking at another affiliate marketing program. The $1995 price tag made me ask the question.

Hi, I just became an affiliate for Alibaba and it has sent me a code to verify my site. They intrcted the code to be place in the root directory. No idea about doing that. so I

Using the All in one SEO plugin is the the easiest way. I used Google webmasters search console (google it) to get the verification key not the whole bunch of code and load it into the front settings page of the SEO plug in.

Then using the same google search console to verify the site.

I found it:

Need answer for this question for future reference.

I had to do the same thing for eBay. I tried and nothing worked so they thought it was suspicious and rejected me.

Most affiliate programs and networks don't ask you to do that.

Good luck!

Thanks, Patsy, it is frustrating.

I hadn't tried ebay but thanks for the heads up.

Have a great day.
