Using other peoples video content?
Last Update: May 07, 2017
Hello everyone, I am just checking before I inadvertently make a mistake.
My niche is an art one and unfortunately I can't physically show someone how to do something, for example build a storage wall. I rent and it is not practical.
But if I cite where a How To video comes from and add it to my site, will I be in trouble with anyone?
I am not looking to present it as my work but am showing the How To.
Would I be in trouble of some sort from WA, google, the little guy sitting in the back of my computer watching my every move, or anyone else.
I don't think I would be because I am acknowledging where and who the video came from but better to be safe than sorry.
thanks
Sharon

You can use youtube videos that have a "Share" link to embed the video in your site. If the video's originator has posted the share link, no further permission is needed.

Adding actual links to outside sources will cause a ranking hit. Avoid that if you can. Maybe try including the address from the address bar and removing the hyperlink from it. I don't know if that will work.
