Using other peoples video content?

Hello everyone, I am just checking before I inadvertently make a mistake.

My niche is an art one and unfortunately I can't physically show someone how to do something, for example build a storage wall. I rent and it is not practical.

But if I cite where a How To video comes from and add it to my site, will I be in trouble with anyone?

I am not looking to present it as my work but am showing the How To.

Would I be in trouble of some sort from WA, google, the little guy sitting in the back of my computer watching my every move, or anyone else.

I don't think I would be because I am acknowledging where and who the video came from but better to be safe than sorry.

thanks

Sharon

Good topic and discussion.

Thanks

Thank you, I like to ask the community if there is something I am not sure about.
Lots of knowledge here.
thank you for your comment

Sharon

I would acknowledge the source. Then it dould be ok.

Thank you, Eric, that's what I thought, but it is nice to have confirmation.

Sharon

I think you would be ok if you acknowledge the source. After all, it is free advertising for them.

That is true Peter, I had not thought of that.

Thank you for your advice.

You are welcome. Don't quote me on it though. I am no legal beagle!

Marion has an excellent video on this subject.

Does she? Great I will pop over and have a look.

Thank you for pointing it out to me.

Sharon

you can easily make and post your own videos to refer them to

I will do that with some of the things I want to show, but for others, I am restricted by space and equipment.

Luckily, I am in the best place to ask someone how to do that. lol. Go Wealthy Affiliate.

Never done a video. New thing to learn, onward to the adventure....lol

Sharon

Good question. Will have a look at Marion Black's training

Yes, I will pop over and check out Marion's training.

Thank you for suggesting it.

Sharon

You can use youtube videos that have a "Share" link to embed the video in your site. If the video's originator has posted the share link, no further permission is needed.

Marion Black created some training about how to do this:

Better than my primitive idea.

Oh never thought of that. Thank you.

Yes, I am going to pop over and watch Marion's training.

Thank you for the help

Sharon

Adding actual links to outside sources will cause a ranking hit. Avoid that if you can. Maybe try including the address from the address bar and removing the hyperlink from it. I don't know if that will work.

I didn't think about the ranking hit.

Thanks for the help. I am going to watch Marion Blacks training.

It will have something about that.

Thank for the advice.

Sharon

I am sorry but I can't help you, Sharon!

thanks, Rebecca.

Thanks for sharing, Sharon.

Your welcome.
