Touched by Cyclone Debbie
As some of you may know I live in Brisbane, Queensland , Australia and the north of my state was hit by a ferocious cyclone called Debbie last week. Once she crossed the coast she became a rain depression and traveled down the coast reeking flooding rain and gale force winds for over 1500 kms.
We received over 500mm of rain and strong winds but because we are high had no flooding, thankfully. The worst consequence where I live is that we have lost phone, mobile, internet, power and had downed trees blocking roads for a few days.
We have a generator which was great because we have tank water for the house without power, we have no drinking water, toilets, refrigeration etc. You never know how long you may be without power when a natural disaster hits, so we rationed the generator fuel we had.
So what do you do when you have no power? It is always funny how you plan to use the time to get heaps of things done. After all you have no interruptions from phone calls, visitors, or something interesting on tv.
I decided I would use the time to work on my WA site, maybe do a few more lessons and achieve heaps. Ahhhhhh, no, remember the bit about no power or internet. Never mind I will use good old pen and paper, then put those plans and blogs into action.
Well, that didn't happen. Instead I started mind mapping goals and steps of what I want to achieve with WA and further enhance and structure my business. It was a great thing to do and I am so pleased I did it.
Although Debbie, bought so much destruction, she actually helped me to focus. My plan in future is to have a block of time once a week, where I turn of my technology and sit and go over my lists, goals and strategies. The most important thing I learned was to just breathe, we get so caught up in trying to achieve now, we forget to just breathe.

Being a Debbie myself, all I can say is we work in mysterious ways! Glad you made the most of your time. I'm old enough to remember a time when there was no Internet.....
A quieter time. Debbie

I can remember when I was young---we had only electricity and my aunt had gas and electric. When the power lines are down we usually went to my aunts because they could cook when we couldn't. We were on the same line with the hospital so we usually got power back quicly
