I don't really like the idea of making reviews, I find them irritating.

Is it possible to have a good website with general content related to my niche even if I'm not revi

Of course you can!

Of course! There are tons of keywords in every niche that are not 'review' keywords. The reason a lot of people use review keywords is because it's a simple formula, they are often low competition, and it's later in the customer purchase lifecycle. But there is plenty to say about any niche that's not a review, and you can still make sales. I think if you are promoting a specific product or service, at some point you need to tell the customer exactly what they are buying, but how you go about that is up to you.

Thanks for the reply nathaniell. I'm trying to focus all my content on my niche which is making money as a blogger. So I'll obviously be using WA as my focal point.

i actually did review WA as one of my first posts, and I had fun doing so. But only because I love WA, I'm not so interested in random companies just to show WA is better lol.

I'm using this as a focal point for all my affiliate links like kyle suggested in phase 2.

Sounds like a plan!

I've recently joined WA, and I'm starting to use images more in my blogs. Slowly learning where to put them and which KIND of images to put in.

Images of all types are rea

100% agree. If you're interested in acquiring some legitimate "freebies" it might be worth seeing if the BigStock 35 image download offer is still open: https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/rich/blog/ok-this-is-disgusting-just-ugh :) Rich.

Great link Rich, thanks. Good way to get free images without worrying about possibly getting sued? No idea how it works.

Well said. Images are probably the most underestimated tool in making a site have that extra something. You can write the best content in the world, but with a poor image, it's not going to get you much credibility.

I'm curious how people do it, for example I'm probably going to be creating a lot of pages/posts. But the way it's working now is that I already have a few pages in each categor

There is no way to transfer them. I would rewrite the article as a post, but make it different enough so that it's not duplicate content. Usually there can be comments on posts, but not pages. Yes, pages should be more "timeless" topics, see page 4 of this post https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/training/if-i-were-to-start-a-new-site

If you are looking to create custom menus, I suggest this training https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/training/navigation-menus

Thank a lot nathaniell, you're a great help.

Is there a way to transfer page articles to posts and vice versa easily? it's a pain to have to delete the page and make a whole new post, plus dont wanna lose my comments.

Did everything work out for you with this?

Pages appear in my side bar/menu and posts appear in my front page. So important topics should be pages?

Oh, and I forgot, there's this training too that's worth looking it. It's a bit 'plain' but the information is good, and this guy makes good training! https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/training/03-posts-and-pages

Not all posts have to be on a menu. I just have some very important pages listed on my menus, and posts are added automatically to my blog. You can also make use of your side bar to highlight some important posts or pages with custom links via the custom menu.

Actually, there should be a little box called "featured image" where you make posts. This is how you select that image. If you don't use it, it will usually take the first image from you post. I don't know which theme you are using - not all of them work the same way, but look for a 'featured image' on the post, and see if that works for you.

Or, if you are happy using a plugin, then that's fine too!

Yeah that option is there, and it chooses the image that appears at the top in the slideshow :]

Are you creating posts or pages? Often the slider will use pages, but, if your theme has options, the slider may be able to choose pages or posts. The "featured image" will make those thumbnail pictures for posts, but the featured image will choose images for the slideshow if you are doing pages.

I don't know if it's the same for your theme, but this has been my experience for the themes I've worked with.

Resolved, seems I needed a plugin to choose the image for the thumbnails. it was a recommended plugin but I never got it.

"Adds the ability to add multiple post thumbnails to a post type."

I am sorry but I have not come across this before.

Hmm okay thanks, ill look around.

I'm trying to make my image stretched, so it doesn't tile, it looks ugly and I really don't like it. I was able to do it in the past, anyone know how?

Not all themes allow for this, but those that do have an option called "tile" or "tiled" or something like that. If you do not see this in the "background" section where you are uploading your image, then it's not available for your theme. You can switch themes, or just choose to go without a background image.

Thanks nathaniell for the information.

If I am not wrong wordpress has fixed sizes of image facility in the right hand, bottom of page or post when you edit.
