I am looking to start to get in to email marketing, and have watched the training with Jay on the first steps for this, but am conscious that it is a little dated now, so whilst he recommends option I was wondering which email service providers people would recommend? I am thinking something that offers a free service initially as I am only in to month 3 so would like to keep outgoings as low as possible at the moment, with a view that I can upgrade down the line, but would appreciate any thoughts.

Thanks in advance

My understanding is that you basically need to activate a newsletter plugin (MailPoet, Mail Chimp or Newsletter, etc) first as it is free, compared to an autoresponder like Aweber or GetResponse which you have to pay and which we should then be able to afford as our business grows and able to support the cost.

Thanks for this! I am just wondering if it is easy to transfer your data/list over to one of the paid ones when you need to?

Thanks for this question. I am learning myself and prompts me to search. Tried to search in WA but couldn't find something exactly to this question.

But if I google "how to transfer email list from newsletter to an autoresponder?", I think at least Aweber says it is possible. Putting down the link below for your convenience.

Within WA, I found some interesting training and blog if you are interested.

Sendinblue (free version) - no restriction on number of subscribers but you’re limited to 300 mails per day. Further, you can embed your affiliate links except for niches such as weight loss, crypto, dating etc.

For more information, you can read their TOU before signup.

Mail Chimp has too many rules and restrictions and they are likely to close your account without warning. I recommend MailPoet as a free service for up to 1,000 subscribers. Most of the paid autoresponders offer the first month free. Try AWeber, or GetResponse. Ask me for my affiliate links.

Try Getresponse for 1 month for free. Mail chimp in my experience is sometimes not compatible to the plugin I'm using to automate my email sequence. I'm using Getresponse personally and I'm very satisfied.

You can try Mail Chimp its free for the first 1k mailings I think. I tried Mail Chimp. I wasn't too crazy about them. Aweber is a very basic autoresponder email marketing. I use Get Response. There is ConvertKit, Active Campaign, SendLane, Drip email, etc.. Mail Chimp is the one that I know you can get started for free. Mail Chimp is a good way to get started then when you build it up you can switch to other autoresponder services. I choose Get Response because they have all the features that I wanted that benefits my niche email marketing needs.

This is really great info, thanks very much. If i start with mail chimp and then switch to something else is there an easy way to carry over the email addresses already collected in mail chimp do you know?

MarionBlack answered your question so I'd go with what she said about MailPost. It is true that Mail Chimp has rules about affiliate links and MLM in general but I have not had any trouble with it even with my affiliate links. I switched to Get Response. Almost all autoresponders do have an affiliate program and you can earn from them signing up. It is my business motto that I will never ask people or beg people (unsolicited) to inbox me for for my affiliate link to any of my autoresponders or to my sales funnel page or give it to any one on WA unless they personally asked me for it without me telling them.
