Hey guys, i've been clicking around for ideas about this.. for my site I would like to simply give away a free beat or something to each person that leaves an email address.. what would be the best option?

-Aweber? (19/month)

-MadMimi? (found some training, going to do tmw)

-Mailchimp? I installed the plugin but didn't know what to do from there, even after some research .. kind of confusing..

anywho, any feedback would be appreciated!

-Stu

Jay just had a webinar on this a few weeks ago her: and there are several webinars from the past you can look up. There's also a classroom for email marketing with lots of training in it: https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/email-marketing

Personally I use Get Response. I have used Aweber in the past and GVO. I would not recoomend GVO as it is a messy dashboard and had loads of upsells which confuse people no end. Aweber is great and very simple to use though pricy, I am using Get Response as it seems to be the recommended choice for serious internet marketers in the 'make money niche' due to the great opt in form drag and drop editors etc and deliverability rates. I cannot comment on Mailchimp, yet it is free I believe and it is definately one of the more simple ones. I remember watching this set of tutorials on Mailchimp (and although the style would suit some people - stick with it as the info is there step by step) I remember thinking that the set up was covered in step by steps. If it helps. http://goo.gl/gVzkCq (I am not tracking clicks here, it is just the only way I know to be able to put a YT video in a comment as you cannot put a You tube direct link in WA comments :) Ali (also re Get REsponse , having come from Aweber and GVO and having a little background knowledge in setting up campaigns etc , I did find Get Response took quite a bit of getting used to, so Mailchimp would definately be a quicker start, if speed is what you are after)

I actually agree with Larry, Aweber really is a great programme all round if the price doesn't cause too many problems - always look for discount codes on Google :) The only reason I use Get Response and say Aweber is that I haven't yet done a comparison blog pointing people to all the useful tutorials and making my own. when I do have this in place I will just let people decide between Aweber and Get Response - though I will happily recommend both as my top two choices :). (Again, just as a side note, of all the successful marketers that I have followed for about 2 years... they all say Aweber or Get Response (or Infusionsoft if you are super advanced for all kinds of tracking), if that helps. I always think success leaves clues as they say. I know that Get Reponse has a You Tube Channel with their tutorials and I am sure Aweber will have too - take a look to help you decide maybe :)

I like mailchimp
just copy and paste the code and go to the widgets area in wordpress, add a text and past the code there. it will work. you dont need a plugin for that. i hope that helps

Hi Stu, I did the same thing with Mail Chimp. Did some checking and found that you had to pay for upgrades to get the functions I wanted. So I deleted the plugin. Kind of a bait and switch as far as I am concerned.
Aweber seems to have a lot of training videos. I haven't downloaded it yet, but I think it is the one that will do what I want. Plus, they are pretty much upfront about the cost. Just my thoughts. Good Luck
